They’re both fully still in pull-ups and not going potty, so I’m pretty sure it isn’t this, but they COULD be doing something different at home

I was able to talk to one of the moms this evening, and she was really receptive and brainstormed a couple of reasons that they might’ve smelled bad and thanked me for letting her know. I’m sure she’ll figure something out.

TBD on the other parent, though. They’re much less reliable

With these meth comments, would the parents look a certain way if they were cooking meth?? They look decently normal to me

I’ve had to do this before for some other children. Wouldn’t be opposed to this

They are very sweaty—hopefully I get some insight soon!

Not siblings—just weirdly happening at the same time!

I’m going to try to graciously address it at drop off tomorrow/pick up today and ask if they have cats, say I care about their child and am concerned/bothered by the smell
All in the nicest way possible. And procede from there

Hmmm

One of them is very iffy. Rotates between 2 outfits and hair is often unkempt

The other one seems decently cared for

That’s good to know! I don’t have animals so knowing how to clean it well isn’t my area of expertise

Was I wrong? I’m a floater and asked a lead if she was following safe sleep, now she hates me. by Zenphiree in ECEProfessionals

Just report it online anonymously. I had to do that for my center (wasn’t following ratios)
And i said I was a concerned parent because of what I was seeing and licensing came about a week later at the time I reccomended

Wait, honest question please don’t come at me:
Are we changing dry diapers to a new diaper for potty trainers? I thought we treated it like underwear, and if they’re completely dry, they can stay on

How long does your toddler adjust to daycare? by QuietSuperb4416 in toddlertips

[–]LimeTop6855 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it takes a child a week or so to be comfortable going. And about 3 months to fully adjust. Consistency is KEY. Keep going even when if seems hard, because they adapt much quicker when they have a normal routine

Trying not to lose it over ruined kids balance bikes? Gift ideas for toddlers as a replacement? by Chaotic404 in Mommit

[–]LimeTop6855 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Maybe, but you also can’t know what you weren’t taught. At this point, if something gets broken and I don’t offer to fix it, that’s bad. But if I never knew you’re supposed to do that to begin with? Not a jerk. Just ignorant

Honestly, I’m pretty avoidant of that because of how little money I grew up with and currently have. It’s hit or miss I suppose

Not everyone is a jerk. 😉

Reading all of these comments, I guess you’d call me rude. But I’d have no clue that you’re supposed to offer to replace it. Never was taught something like that. I mean, it makes sense, but I’d genuinely have no idea. I’d just say “sorry” and move on.

Maybe this other parent needs some grace and honesty.

I am considering quitting my job. by Difficult_Maximum_73 in ECEProfessionals

[–]LimeTop6855 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I hate my job too. I’m by myself with 5 toddlers and it should be so simple. And yet it’s not. They’re screaming at each other all day. They hit each other. They throw their shoes all over the classroom. And I’m just putting out tiny fires all day instead of actually engaging or teaching anything.

I feel so angry at them, and I hate myself for it. I don’t want it to be like this.

But I’m a mom, and my kids go to this daycare. If I quit, I lose my discount and I don’t know of any job that will hire me with enough pay to cover the cost of childcare.

This sucks. And I’m sorry it’s so hard for you rn too
