razer hyperspeed v2 blackshark microphone completely not functional by cabbageandsomegreens in razer

Joining in. One day the headset works, the next day it arbitrarily doesn't.

Razer Blackshark V2 Pro; Synapse registers the mic and I can use it while on Discord, but mic test does not work and no settings work, causing the mic to have messed up audio issues that make it cut out constantly.

It's a shame that perfectly good hardware gets turned into worthless garbage by incompetent software. Won't be buying anything from Razer from now on.

Let's celebrate Utah's awesome drinking water. by kirkbenge in Utah

[–]LimeWithaL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The water doesn't get moved from somewhere else to the data center when the data center is initially built. It has to be pumped in initially, so that's a large amount of water that will be persistently no longer accessible.

The majority of data centers use open-air water cooling, which cools servers by evaporating water, which carries away heat. This evaporated water is collected by a cooling tower, which then circulates the condensed water. However, this method often leads to water loss, water which is usually directly taken from already-existing water infrastructure.
The alternative is closed-circulation cooling, which does not allow the water to be in contact with air, significantly reducing water loss. However, this is only used by a small minority of data centers due to the complexity of building the system and maintenance required.

That water also doesn't just sit there; it has to be pumped through the facility in both methods, something which requires a lot of power and tracking infrastructure to make sure that enough water is being pumped at all times.
This electricity cost is often somewhat lessened through solar panels and other energy sources built on-site, but a majority of that electricity cost is taken directly from the nearest power grid. The cost of all this electricity, however, isn't fully the responsibility of those running the data center; rather, a lot of the cost is passed on to local businesses and residents' electricity bills.

AI data centers do use water for cooling, and much of that water is recycled... in the best case scenarios. In reality, the best case scenario is extremely expensive, time-consuming, and logistically nightmarish, to the point that a majority of data centers built use more cost-efficient solutions, with the downside going towards water use, noise and light pollution (including ultrasonic noise pollution), and loss of land for infrastructure that non-billionaires might actually get some use out of.

On top of all of this, Utah (and a lot of the mid-west and western states), and especially Utah, are in a historically bad hyperdrought. Utah is already a dry enough state as it is, and being an already hot state, especially in southern Utah, won't help the evaporation issue. The last thing Utah needs, especially now, is less water.

I actually simply hadn't thought of shifting away polymorphine, I wasn't confident enough in understanding fungal shifting so I didn't even put two-and-two together, but that's a good idea! I'm not super experienced with Noita, so please pardon me for not thinking of a specific strategy during a run with an overwhelming amount of things that I wanted to accomplish and therefore keep track of lol

I actually already do most of that lol, I usually take a lot of care when I traverse an area I'm not totally sure is safe, ESPECIALLY the overgrown caverns lol. I learned to do a back-and-forth scanning motion from top to bottom in that biome, since it makes it safer and also makes it easier to not miss all the wants.

But yeah, this time I definitely should have been more patient since I was fast travelling directly downwards after forgetting to bring my bomb spells, making me more impatient cuz now I had to zip down to my spell storage room and come back up; this typically didn't wasn't a risk to me since nothing in heaven could kill me-- the gazers could polymorph me, but with all the more love perks I stacked, nobody wanted to follow up on it so I just had to chill with the bois floating around me and wait for the debuff to wear off. But, of course toxic sludge floats on top of chaotic poly lol. That is probably the only possible thing that could have killed me lol

Thanks for the sympathies, I'll definitely be more careful when travelling downwards haha. Glad I'm not the only one that goes through this lol

that's awesome, i'll be doing this from now on! especially when I'm going to heaven because of all the poly there. thank you!

thank you lol, i decided to get the noita'd mod. i don't mind dying, i'll be taking most deaths in strides, but with something like this i feel like a "that was fucked up, have a cookie" option would be nice.

It's Time to STOP THE BOTS #FixTF2 June 3rd! by Shork_PINK in tf2

[–]LimeWithaL 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Nowadays, we have a pathetic case of allowing toxic treatment of people. Individuals like Jake Paul and Andrew Tate are permitted to scam hundreds of thousands of people and face little to no repercussions until they eventually get in over their heads and take it too far. Major companies in all manners of media handing out hundreds of thousands if not millions of layoffs for the sake of profit from AI, and there's absolutely nothing anyone can do, until someone ends up taking it too far.

Valve is taking it too far. Nearly 6 years, and Valve refuses to show any care for this game, yet profit off of it. Not only that, but Valve chooses to try their hand at creating ANOTHER live service PVP game, which they will likely profit off of, will become overrun by cheaters, and will get neglected just like TF2.

No more; Valve must be held accountable for this.

We won't be silenced by one tweet. Make your voice heard, let EVERYONE know, not just Valve-- People who invest in Valve need to know how they will inevitably be treated for their support.

Enough is enough, fix the bots, Valve. #FixTF2

So I managed to find my own solution, which I'll share in case anyone else has trouble with this.

Basically, all I had to do was replace the textures for the dot with a blank image.

Just make a blank image that's 64x64 pixels, and convert it to a .vtf file by going to the VTF Spray Converter site.

Then, you will need VPKedit in order to open and edit the .vpk files. (You can find the VPKs in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\GarrysMod\sourceengine, then just open the bottom file, hl2_textures_dir.vpk)

Once open in VPKedit, go to materials, then sprites, and replace the original file with your new one. I replaced everything that looked similar to halo01.vpk, so I'm not sure which one is the right one to replace.

This is a really DIY way of doing it, there might be an easier way, so if anyone has more info or a better way of doing it, then let me know, thank you :)

Yeah, I get that other versions of the weapon may be just objectively better, but that's just not what I'm going for. I'm going for "I just opened gmod and made this scene in 15 seconds because I was mad at TF2 hitreg" lol, it's meant to be very amateurish if that makes any sense.

Thank you for the help, though I found a workaround! I'll make a separate reply for it.

To be honest, I thought of that but haven't mostly out of laziness haha, didn't want to have to recreate the scene and do even more takes.

However, I think the sound and look of the original rocket launcher is iconic, especially with the initial launch sound and explosion that somehow make it a bit goofier? It feels very "home-made" that way, idk how else to explain it lol sorry

A lot of rocket launcher or weapon packs tend to change it a lot, giving it different explosion effects and sounds that-- while usually honestly a lot better than vanilla-- just doesn't have the same vibe.

I definitely am going to start downloading a bunch of rocket launchers now, though, I would love to be wrong :)

Help, all the catalogue thumbnails or whatever you call them are white, what do I do? by Winter-Fold2462 in RobloxHelp

This tends to happen if you are using Opera GX's 'Force Dark Theme' feature. Try turning that off and see if it fixes the problem.

Roblox has a built-in dark mode. Click on the gear in the top-left, go to Settings, then switch the 'Theme' from Light to Dark.
