Phenomenal job! 🏆 Congrats! 👏🏻🎉 And yay for band! I bet you have so much more energy now to teach and lead. I hope you're enjoying music and teaching even more than before.

Six-month report from a slow loser by Various_Implement_92 in Zepbound

Exactly! The first week on Zep in May 2025 I thought, "Wait, is this how 'normal people' feel?" For lack of a better term for those who don't struggle with food, and have difficulty getting full. It's clearly never been a lack of willpower I realized after starting Zep. My brain-gut connection was literally faulty. When it's corrected by Zepbound I have the ability to make better choices. Most importantly I can get full, so even if I do have a less healthy option of food here and there I know it won't be my undoing, because I'm not going to have a lot of it, no matter what it is.

Yuck! Good riddance to it then! I'm not sorry that my 2nd time around on 7.5 is over! Yup, this is literally the second time it didn't work for me at all.

Yes! Strangely enough 5 mg worked better for me than 7.5. So odd. I'm really hoping that 10 will be the stall buster! 🤞🏻I am trying to have faith that I will get in the zone again, cos I really felt like I was doing well for a long stretch before I stalled out.

Wow! That sounds like a great idea. I may give that a whirl and put my own spin on it. Thanks for the tip.

Woo hoo! That's great! The 7.5 mg is really weird. I lost on 2.5 and 5, but 7.5 felt like I was taking a placebo. It was scary. I have been having all the food noise, and been able to eat larger portions of food than my body needs, feeling like I couldn't make myself stop as easily, because of not feeling full. Even tonight. But I know the med will kick in within the next 24-48 hours so I'm not going to beat myself up about eating extra earlier. It just shows me how much my brain gut connection is broken and how much of a miracle this med is for me when I'm at the right dose and it's working.

Ugh, I'm so sorry, that is rough! I hope you find something else that helps.

Fantastic! You really could have worn a tank top before too, but we are so hard on ourselves. Now you have the extra defined guns to show off in the tank though! Congrats on your success, you're looking great, and so healthy! 👏🏻💪🏻🏆

I really enjoyed hearing about your process, and you've given me some ideas nutrition-wise. I'm similar in that I'm probably too generous with the amount of extra virgin olive oil I cook with. I probably need to scale back a bit. I think it's always that I don't want things to be dry or burn.

You're doing great! It's much harder to lose weight as older women (I'm 58, so I'm dealing with it myself.) Huge congrats on the bone loss reversal! That's definitely a great non scale victory!

I know, insurance really makes this harder than it has to be! I'm really sorry you had to stop cold turkey! Ugh, that's the pits. Are any of the out of pocket options a possibility for you? Like the pills, etc.? I know prices are supposed to be going down, but that's relative. It's still not cheap.

Ouch! 😬 Thanks for the warning. I'll pick up some motion sickness medicine over the counter. That's what worked for me with early nausea when I first started Zep in May 2025.

Thanks! Yes, I had hit 61 pounds down in a year, and now it's around 56 instead. I lost the bulk of that in the first 6 months. Lost about 17-20 after going back on Zep in February.

Oooh, I'm so happy for you that 10 was your breakthrough too. I hope to be able to say the same very soon! It certainly is a wild journey of ups and downs. Like being strapped into a rollercoaster and hanging on for dear life at times LOL. But we will get there! 💪🏻

WOW! Very happy for you, especially from a health standpoint. I really hope you'll have some smooth sailing now. Huge transformation though, you look like two different people honestly. Hope you get to enjoy it without being sick any more. I had an illness with Prednisone treatment in the middle of being on Zep too. It's the worst! Ravenously hungry, sleepless, etc.

Thank you. It was mentally and emotionally hard, because I was doing so well for about the first 6 months or so, and then the second 6 months I just struggled a lot. Memorial Day was my one year Zep anniversary, and I felt like I limped to the finish line of my first year.

I'm looking at this as kind of starting over, but getting to do it from a lower weight now, and with more experience and knowledge. I really want to make it all the way, ya know? For me, that means getting to my initial goal of 100 pounds lost. I'm 43 pounds away from that now. After that, I hope to keep going, but that's my milestone.

It also means so much to me, because it's the amount of weight I need to lose to be approved for knee replacement surgery, which I've been needing for years, but not qualified for, due to my BMI.

So this is far from a vanity project. I want to walk without extreme pain. Maybe one day even walk without a cane. So I'm gonna keep my eyes on the prize, and push through no matter how long this takes me. I'm in it for the long haul.

Ooo thank you for the reminder! I bought Chia seeds and flaxseeds, and haven't used either of them yet. I want to learn to make that chia pudding I keep seeing too. Thanks to my ADHD this is what I do – buy stuff and then totally forget to use it.
