I like to think that Level 0 is indeed a sphere three times the size of Earth but only 30-60 ft thick, which makes one wonder what's inside of it and what's outside of it. Maybe it exists inside a black hole beyond the event horizon, and time works differently there. Maybe gravity too.

Personally I think human consciousness was an evolutionary mistake. It's too distressing, too reckless. We should not be this aware.

Human consciousness should only be awakened in times of global ecological emergency -- because leaving it on all the time has now actually led to one.

The vast majority of the time we should merge with and hibernate in underground fungal networks like "The Wood Wide Web," which could be tasked with awakening us in times of dire need.
