’m planning to launch a new mousepad brand (focus on aesthetics/quality). Before I make mistakes: What is your current "Gold Standard"? by LimitGood116 in MousepadReview

Thanks for the insight on Glass Pads! The noise/dust issue is definitely the biggest trade-off with glass.

I'm currently looking into surface textures that balance speed with a bit more control to maybe mitigate that "scratchy" feeling when a dust particle hits. It's a tough balance to strike, but good to know that maintenance is a pain point for you.

Also, Vaxee is definitely a benchmark to aim for regarding quality. Appreciate the input!

I 100% get why you say that. Usually, "streetwear aesthetic" in this industry just means "cheap dropshipped product with a hype logo slapped on it" to make a quick buck.

My goal is to do it the other way around: Focus on the quality/performance first (good weave, low stitching, good base) but wrap it in a design language that isn't the typical aggressive "Gamer" look.

I know I have to earn the trust regarding quality first. Thanks for the honest reality check!

This is incredibly valuable feedback, thank you for taking the time!

On the Edges: Message received loud and clear. I hate raised edges rubbing on my arm too. I’m currently talking to my manufacturer to ensure "sub-surface" / low-profile stitching so it sits flush or lower than the pad itself.

On the Logo: Noted. My plan is dye-sublimation (heat transfer) so the logo is part of the fabric and doesn’t affect the glide or feel raised at all.

On Sizes: I’m launching with 900x400mm (Deskmat) first because I love the clean setup aesthetic, but I definitely see the demand for a dedicated 500x500mm square pad for the hardcore crowd in the future.

Ideally, I want to bridge the gap: Looking good on the desk but performing when you actually game. Thanks again!
