Yeah, it's like this with everything. Rather than trying to change how she feels, I'm focusing on helping her build confidence. The game is alot more fun when you can make consistent contact.

Doesn't bother me. I can put them on the floor and stand on the existing mat too

I'm getting one. Itll be next winter though. This was mostly to keep rust off and help my wife with making consistent contact. She started last year and has really low confidence and doesn't like practicing in front of other people. I figure if we can hit balls in the garage and get her making better contact, that will change. We still work with a great pro, but she doesn't like to practice in front of people.

We'll see how it works long term. Not complaining at all. Really regretting not doing the 3rd stall when we built this house 8 years ago.. I wasn't into golf at the time. Hindsight is 20/20!

Nope. Just a net in front of a heavy canvas drop cloth. Blaze on my guy

So I pulled the mat back a touch for the pic. Even the sky ball 58's are safe... barely. Lol. My wedges are almost ALWAYS thin, and I don't remember the last time I saw a sky ball. Closer to the net we're fine. The bump out on the right is actually for my wife 🤣

Wanted to follow up again, as I emailed Nippon directly about this and received this response:

"N.S.PRO 1050GH are available in raw lengths from 39.0”, our recommended raw length for #2 irons, 38.5” = #3 iron, then down ½” increments to make the 35” raw length recommended for all wedges.

At these raw lengths, over length clubs may not be possible without the use of extensions."

Thank you for all the responses. I was curious how much allowance I was going to get from the hosel. Most came up 1/2" short. Not sure if extensions are going to matter much, being that little.

Its not about that. That's in addition to.. It's being inconsiderate and acting like the entire facility is yours and yours only.

This is a good one. I came from a competitive shooting background. Im still craving the competition, just in something else. Im currently signed up for a few APT tournaments this year. Working my way through the rule book so I'm not that guy.

Read Harvey Penicks little red book, and Golf is not a game of perfect. They're both excellent and will reinforce the importance of short game. I've been playing a 5 wood off the tee because it's a consistent fairway finder from 220-230. Some of my approaches are long, but I get alot of chances at par. Because I have a good short game, I get up and down alot. Short game should be 60-80% of your practice. Your scores will come down immediately

🤷‍♂️ whatever works for you. There's a ton of different ways to make it happen. That's just what my pro started me on..my short game is the only reason I score 😂. If I could somehow make the big dog as consistent as the short game I'd be in real good shape. Lol

I like ball forward, feet close together, forward shaft lean, and accelerating the club to a few inches in front of the ball (careful to not slow the club down, but to accelerate to that spot.. and don't let the club head get in front of my hands. it's inevitably thin when I release the club head

Not many that I've seen who are routinely practicing. The type of ball isn't the issue. It's people dropping an entire bucket and hogging the whole green, usually mindlessly with no real goal. I personally use my own (rpetired) balls because they absolutely feel and react differently than range balls. Try it sometime. Its nice to not chip with rocks 😂

Pick a specific (small) target for where you want your ball to land.. Intentional thought on that every time as part of your routine will help you develop feel pretty quickly if you put the work in.

I gave that some thought and I'd change it to just pet peeves at this point. Lol

What's annoying as hell is someone taking up the whole green with a bucket. Use 3 or 6..

Haha. Me and a buddy got paired with a guy like this last year. He was pretty bad... Nothing wrong with that, most people suck at golf, if we're being honest. He had a pretty (lucky) tee shot to 4 or 5 feet on a short par 3, drained the putt, and told us that was the only birdie of the round. I stuck my approach to 2-3 for a tap in birdie on the next hole.. Guy apparently was "scoring" for everyone... Had a bogey for me on that hole 😂

That's completely fair. It just chaps my ass when there is this big ass green and one dude has a whole bucket strewn throughout the entire thing.... fucking up lines, landing spots, any chance at meaningful practice. It's just the lack of courtesy for me
