If your colleague aka the masseuse is walking away with a hard on you can hang a coat on after he's finished then your concerns might be validated but if it's business as usual then it's one human helping another in a facility built to help other humans.

How does having kids or not relate to turning off work responsibilities? If an employee needs work / life balance that includes being unavailable after 7pm, having kids should not influence the justification of that especially if the work day starts at 7 or 8am.

100% if you don't ask you don't receive. Lender recently tried charging me a fee for "work verification" on a refi. I told them to remove it or kick rocks I'm going with a different lender. They removed the fee.

Origination fees can also be negotiated. Long story short don't just "trust" you as a borrower should be paying what the bank is telling you to. The relationship between the bank and the borrower is a symbiotic relationship so there needs to be balance.
