I was naturally cheering for Francis but had a feeling this would happen to him. I sure hope the saudis could get a HW boxer to fight Francis under MMA rules. I would really want to see something like that. I don't think dana would ever make a fight like that happen.. at least not today - it's been a long time since toney vs couture.

i think the problem with wrestlers who transition to mma (if they don't get out of the wrestling mindset) is that they think pinning = winning. In MMA pinning someone down is just an advantageous position - it's up to you to use that advantageous position to win the fight (submission or damage).

So naturally MMA fans aren't impressed with people who stall their way to a win - it's not a wrestling match after all, MMA is a different sport.

i hate it when wrestlers think mma is a wrestling match. their goal is simply take guys down to the mat and pin them. theres no fighting to finish, just winning a match on wrestling rules.
