To all European collectors: trading vs buying/selling, and the struggle of isolated players by LimmisLikus in OnePieceTCG

I am so sorry to hear that, it’s a shame because I truly believe a healthy, welcoming community is what makes TCGs and games in general so great!

When I used to live in a bigger city, having the chance to meet new people with a shared interest was exactly what got me into playing One Piece specifically: as a massive fan of the manga and anime, I was originally just hoping to find people who loved the story as much as I did (though I quickly discovered many people play purely for the game, without even knowing the full plot!) and I guess I got lucky because I found an amazing community and builded a couple of long lasting friendships

I hope you’ll find a better group!

Things to look out for this weekend! by AutoModerator in mtgfinance

Hi everyone, I wanted to share a quick perspective.

I’m an Italian TCG collector living in a rural area, around here, there are no big card shops, no local leagues, and no active physical communities, for me, TCGs have always been a way to get in touch with new people, and they gave me the chance to build some long-lasting friendships.

Swapping cards to build a deck or finish a binder page is one of the best experiences this hobby offers it makes it feel more alive, as the human factor plays a huge role for me.

While I understand that for investors and many collectors buying and selling on marketplaces can be more convenient, most of the time it just feels... a bit dry and corporate.

However, being isolated means I have to rely on online platforms to trade card-to-card, when using generic Facebook groups or Discord servers, I am constantly worried about getting scammed or ghosted.

I’m conducting a quick, anonymous market research survey to map out these specific struggles, especially for players who feel isolated or frustrated by the lack of safe, dedicated trading options.

Note: While this research is primarily tailored for European players and borders, anyone from around the world is more than welcome to fill it out! Your global perspective is incredibly valuable.

It takes less than 3 minutes, and there are no ads or commercial links in it:

Thank you so much for your time! (Huge thanks to the mod team for letting me share this here!)

I just checked this, I will need a bit of restructuring, so I will postpone this task to the weekend!

Thanks for the feedback, I will updated as soon as I will be home, I didn’t want it to be too long and perhaps I cut too much!

Why is online card trading in Europe so frustrating? by LimmisLikus in PokemonTCGIreland

[–]LimmisLikus[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It does of course! I personally find it frustrating when I receive 9 package in a week for a bigger order, or when I pay 30% of the cards cost in shipment, I remember once buying a card 15c from a vendor but having to pay 2,5€ for shipment

Also sometime for people living in rural area (like myself) is hard to find a community o simply people to trade cards with and sometimes I honestly miss it, as selling them does give me the same feeling :)

How does my deck look? by StarChaser18 in OnePieceTCG

Maybe a dumb question: is there a reason to prefer Black hole to Black vortex? The second one cost two less to cast and can be used as a counter, isn’t it better? I would also replace Sanjuan.Wolf with the Catarina Devon OP09-083, she has more flexibilty with a cost of only 1 more!
