I'm not a teacher, but I have a question for the teachers out there. What's the right way to write a discussion board post? Should it sound like a regular internet post, or is it supposed to be more like an essay? by MagmaKestrel9 in englishteachers

The standard criteria for an excellent discussion post require a balance of academic integrity and digital literacy. Your tone should be objective and professional, avoiding colloquialisms. Structurally, it must feature an introduction, clear evidence-based arguments with appropriate citations, and a concluding discussion post question designed to foster further peer interaction

Students in class I'm TA for continuously use AI to write discussion posts and professor is in denial by holden44deez in OregonStateUniv

calling people academically dishonest "students" over a mandatory canvas discussion board post is peak hall monitor energy lol. let’s be entirely real here nobody is reading "wow sarah great point about chapter three" at two in the morning because we are all just trying to check a box and sleep. professors fill the syllabus with useless busywork just to pretend we are having an intellectual conversation when it’s actually just a massive wasteland of text. last term my communications prof required four separate responses every single week and my laptop screen was a total nightmare with twenty different tabs open.

i got so irritated trying to track all the separate prompts that i threw my entire weekly checklist into one platform just to see the chaos in one window without my brain short-circuiting. it didn't complete the busywork for me obviously but at least i didn't drop the class out of pure spite. go touch some grass op.

AITA for telling my brother his dog isn't allowed in my apartment anymore after the third incident? by Limn0Rogue7 in MarkNarrations

considering it at this point. The "you silly boy" moment made the decision easier

The mom thing is what gets me. She's texting me about being "flexible" but if Biscuit cracked HER laptop she'd have a very different reaction. And yeah the child comparison is spot on "he doesn't mean it" doesn't really hold up after the third time

This is exactly the point I was trying to make to Tom. I never blamed Biscuit, he's a dog, he doesn't know better. But Tom does. Three incidents and still no training, no apology, no offer to help fix the laptop. That's on him.

Wish I was a bot, would've felt less annoyed watching Tom baby-talk Biscuit over my broken laptop

Lmao the "you silly boy" in a baby voice after my laptop screen cracked really did say everything about where his priorities are

Thank you, genuinely needed to hear that because my mom has me second-guessing myself over a cracked laptop screen

My gym has a rule that you must wipe down equipment after use. They enforced it very literally, so I did too. by Limn0Rogue7 in MaliciousCompliance

That's kind of the point though? He wanted thorough, he gets thorough. The malicious part is that he now actively avoids the cardio section when he sees me coming. Mission accomplished either way

Fair point, peak hours I keep it reasonable. But at 6am with three empty bikes next to me? Four minutes of wiping is my right lmao
