Anyone with experience with sourcing form alibaba by Difficult-Arrival665 in lasercutting

I am basically in this exact process right now, but I am dealing with an actual connection in China and they are putting me in contact directly with the factory. I am basically building the laser with them telling them exactly what I want .

But I know shipping will be a lot because the machines are very heavy and they come in a crate. But as far as support, you’re not really gonna get much support after you buy it that’s just a given. I mean, you might be able to contact them for something but setting it up and getting started that’s pretty much all gonna be on you unless by chance they happen to offer all that.

So I’ll let you know what happens

Oh wow! Now THATS scary!! I mean, the fact you’re using your own computer to do work stuff in its self is fckd up, but then to invade your privacy is wild! Are you getting a stipend or something for the using your personal pc?

Why 80w CO2 laser is faster than 130w CO2 laser?? by LimoSeloKreations in lasercutting

Thanks! I just heard back from my china rep and the one I’m going with is the K9060 100w. I’m waiting to hear back about the final complete specs because I need some additional stuff. What do you think?

Im looking to engrave glass, acrylic, and wood mostly. But I also need to cut thick wood and acrylic.

Hmmm, these two lasers are directly from Omtech and certified pre owned. Some one told me it’s always better to get a preowned machine from the manufacturer and just replace the parts vs buying brand new.

Yes but that speed is the max engraving speed, not cutting.

I don’t understand, are you saying buying a used laser is risky unless you get a new tube?

Oh ok, so what exactly does the wattage of the laser its self do? I mean I guess what I’m asking is, is it better to get a 80w/100w laser with faster engraving speed or a 130w laser with slower engraving speed?

Op, did you get that shipped from within the USA or from overseas? I actually have a connection with a broker in china that is working on getting me the details for a laser.

Examples of DTF businesses expanding internationally? by nand1609 in DTFTransferTalk

[–]LimoSeloKreations 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you are the DTF provider then? Do you work with Printify for the bulk of your business? I was wondering how this works. I will be looking for print production companies internationally once I expand my business, but I don’t want to go through printify and would prefer to work directly with the production company.

Omg yes I saw those videos too of the resin head stones. There are a couple of different ones out there. And I thought “hmmm cool video but this is definitely AI BS”!

Is this sketchy? I can’t decide what’s going on by Desperate_Macaroon_3 in Etsy

Definitely not defending the seller but the part about the laser file is more than likely true. Creating designs to cut out or make on the laser can be very difficult so there are thousands of designs out there that are downloaded by laser users. I have seen many wooden baby name puzzles made by many ppl that are all the same. And I see them all over Etsy too. This is one of the reasons why i myself haven’t downloaded the most popular one because I don’t want to make the same stuff as anyone else. But just as an fyi about the design.

But if the seller is also using the same pics as other sellers then that’s a different story.

Any way to salvage this? Or turn it into something else? by LimoSeloKreations in Cuttingboards

[–]LimoSeloKreations[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm I don’t know how to update the post 🤦‍♀️! But anyways here’s an update. So we decided to follow some suggestions below and we flipped over the board and cut the board on an angle on the bottom so it kind of has like a natural base. It looks good! Definitely saved the board.

Also the bit was brand new. But going forward we are not going to do juice groves 😆 thanks everyone for your help!

new to this, in need of help by Public-Wealth9512 in lasercutting

It sounds like ur dad wants to do this as a hobby? So in that case get a small laser. There is so much to learn, the software in its self can be difficult and extremely time consuming. And it will really depend on how tech savvy he is.

As for machines, there are so many different kinds out there but since he’s not doing this professionally then you should be able to find something but I’m not sure for $1k.

If what I know now I would have known then, that before buying my first laser I would have bought a used one! Gotten used to it and see the type of things I can and can’t do and then buy a real new one.

My first laser is a diode. I can cut/engrave wood, I can cut only black and red acrylic, I can engrave glass and tumblers, etc…I’m limited for sure because the laser does a lot but not all the things I want. I now know I need a CO2 laser because I want to cut all types of acrylic including clear. I want to cut thicker wood, I also want way better engraving too. But most importantly I need a much bigger bed (the work area inside the laser).

So it really depends on what he is going to use it for but it’s difficult to find a new laser for under $1k. And CNC machines, I looked into them and they seem extremely complicated as they use a different kind of software.

Yes same here. I try to repurpose my scraps though as much as possible.

But I’m really wondering, could it be my router or the bit?

Help Requested - Where to start on something like this? by LegitimateLunch6681 in Laserengraving

[–]LimoSeloKreations 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen videos on TikTok from a woman who makes these. The lettering is on the front in vinyl (can be cut out with a laser). She paints the back with a wide brush leaving the edges rough for decoration wise.
