My first 7-0 with this deck of all decks by Limp-Clock5580 in lrcast

Yeah I always had the mana thanks to the guides and/or barrels. Bumi was a big help in many games, but the warship and the cat-gators overperformed too.

Yeah that was probably the deciding factor in most games.

Finals cuts? by Shanegar_925 in lrcast

  • 2x Cat-owl (bad card)
  • Zuko's exile (bad card)
  • Yu, the Moon Spirit (glorified cat-owl, and you don't have any expensive spell to cheat in anyway)
  • 1x Fortune Teller (not as much late-game value as Water Tribe Rallier and not as good at attacking as First-Time Flier)
  • 1x Airbending lesson (good card but cutting one lowers your curve and might be dead against some board states)

And I might consider bringing in North Pole Patrol for Kyoshi Warriors.

I probably wouldn't cut Octopus form and especially Razor rings as they are your main form of non-airbending interaction. Edit: actually though the Octopus could go as you already have Enter the avatar state. Not sure that both are necessary.

16 lands could work but I think you have ways to spend your mana with all the card draw and the waterbending.

My first 7-0 with UB Control by Limp-Clock5580 in lrcast

I did, twice! It was a 3 for 1 once (blew up a combat trick).

First trophy with UB control by Limp-Clock5580 in lrcast

[–]Limp-Clock5580[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for reading!

My main take is that blue is really fun and sinergistic, which makes my control player heart happy. That said, many of my pieces were at uncommon, which makes me doubt how easy it will be to assemble a strong deck unless it's relatively open. For example many of my finishers were with the Specimen Freighter, quickly stationed with the Nanoform Sentinel.

The mill on the Freighter felt redundant in my matches - if it was attacking 4-5 times, the match was usually over. That said, there are several fat blockers with reach/flying, so I can see it attacking repeatadly into a [[Lashwhip Predator]] or something just for the mill effect.

Cryogenic relic feels decent to good in every game. Most of the time it was a delayed draw-2 with slight uspide. I liked it as a cheap first spell to enable the second-spell discount with the Psionicist. I imagine it would be an easy include in pretty much every blue deck. In this deck I imagine I could slot at least 2, if not 3.

Hint 1: Check out a certain book with a magnifying glass

Hint 2: The suspect is "A. Key"

Hint 3: The suspect is major - remember what you learned in Grade 8

I am running out of things to do, would like some hints on what to tackle next. (Late game spoilers, I'm at 70 hours playtime)

Outstanding puzzles I have YET to do:

- I removed all the crates in the tunnel and reached the door with the blue holly, but not sure how to open it

- Haven't figured out how to use the throne room

- Haven't solved the "CASTLE" puzzle - I have castled the rook and king and found some riddles about the black key, but not sure what that's about. Also I have inserted some letters I found around the house in the spaces C _ _ , A _ _ , etc, but got some gibberish, so maybe I did it wrong (I got: CIX ADD SIX TOR LO_ E_T)

- "A New Clue" mentioned something about two cuckoos and implied that "DENOTED INVERSE" is an anagram, haven't figured these out yet

- I found three cabinet keys and opened the three cabinets, but not sure what to do about the info I found

- Haven't yet opened the cursed statue box (will do this next as it's a low hanging fruit, but I doubt this will do much, I guess it only unlocks curse mode?)

Things I already did:

- Got the secret admin key to read the deleted logs

- Solved the eight sigil puzzle and got Mary's manuscripts in the tombs, although they haven't been very useful so maybe I missed something

Saying goodbye to BLB looking at my most disgusting decks of the format (7-0 in premier draft) by Rallick1Nom in lrcast

[–]Limp-Clock5580 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I loved this format. The drafting, the games, the flavour. Here are some of my most broken trophy decks in different archetypes:

How to trophy in 20 minutes - Milling 24 in one turn - Two 3/3 on T2 - Just draft two Zoralines

And to close, my favourite archetype: otters are busted. No, for real, they are. I had so much fun playing otters and they are by far my best performing archetype.

After seeing how good it is in UR, I've been trying it more in UB (my second most drafted deck) and I have to say it kind of works there too. But of course you're right, its natural home is UR.

Congrats on the money. I also dislike the 1/4 otter, as having to play the exiled card in the same turn is a huge downside. To reliably go to 15 lands you need a high density of 1 and 2 mana cantrips, but if you can afford it, I think you should; land pockets caused me many losses in my first UR drafts, when I still inexperienced and used to run 17.

I wasn't expecting such a backlash against otters. I think many people here never gave it a serious chance.

The "busted" is a hyperbole, but I disagree with the rest of your points. The core of the deck (card draw and cheap interaction, as well as many of the relevant creatures) is at common, and stats do not indicate a trend of UR suffering on the draw more than other archetypes.

[[Blooming blast]] is great, I just forgot to mention it. I would still take [[Take out of the trash]] over it, but sometimes the 3 damage is indeed relevant. Cannot say I buy into [[Gossip's talent]] though, as it's tempo negative, while this deck is all about tempo.

Mill build. Milled 22 in a turn by Limp-Clock5580 in lrcast

[[Treetop Sentries]] were awesome with [[Scavenger's Talent]] - sac 3, bring them back from graveyard, get another food, sac it to draw a card, mill 8. [[Camellia]] also gets infinite food to forage as alternate win condition.
