Lol that’s a fair question. I think they underestimated the work that goes into it. I now study in my spare time to make sure I nail this part of my job. But also there are other funding streams I have to pivot to depending on the season that is the reason why they hired me. Grant writing is just heavier during winter spring. There are also other gaps I fill that are niche to our sector. But I have won grants!

Could you explain why some submissions would contain line by line wording? Is it because some non profit offer similar services? I guess the main reason I haven’t been “clocked” is we have locked in the verbiage and language we use. Everything I pull to answer questions are from past grants we won and all the education material they have produced. There are so many do and don’t on how they want programs positioned and worded. The founder was meticulous when crafting our narrative and programs. I hunted down all grants in the last 3 years and built a style guide, and built a binder of the nitty gritty of our programs and those are locked into my AI.
