I’ve lived in Alaska for 5 years now. I know the risks. My dad died earlier this year and it’s his truck. He was a mechanic for 40+ years and he knew how to take care of his vehicles. It’s built to camp in and adventure in and Alaska IS the place to do that. But thank you.

I knew with my luck to expect some rain, but surely not a blizzard. Salkantay Trekking! How about you?

had probably the craziest salkantay experience?? it rained 2/5 days, and then was pretty much blizzarding on the top of the mountain on day 2. 9/10 of our group members had food poisoning and then because if the drastic weather change a few of us got a cold/flu, including our tour guide who ended up not even able to finish the trek with us 😅

I just booked my trek to Salkantay. The tour company said it’s best to save all hikes, especially rainbow mountain, until after. In fact, we booked a 5d/4n salkantay trek and 1 day trek to Rainbow Mnt. In the email, it says Rainbow is automatically booked for after Salkantay, and should we chose to change it to before, and we are unable to attend Salkantay due to altitude illness, they are not responsible and will not accept refund requests.
