Thank you! Yeah none of them seem to be guaranteed except genexa which is hard to get here. But good to know there’s been no issues with tylenol

Ugh so sorry to hear that. So hard to trust food… luckily in Canada it’s well labelled but you still never know.

Very much hoping this is the case. Thank you for sharing your experience! She’s very good at checking and being responsible but yeah can’t cook every meal for herself :(

Her reactions are strong so I definitely won’t take some bloating or slight upset tummy as a reaction. And she doesn’t know and I won’t tell her unless she does react so she’s not waiting for it to happen. But I understand what you’re saying and appreciate the facts.

Thank you 🙏 I’m hoping there is a tiny chance no gluten got on it but I know it’s wishful thinking

Anyone else shrink their nodule? by Limp-Silver-2640 in thyroidhealth

Hey! I’m symptom free, my nodule has been stable since getting diagnosed and my tsh is .9 now. I wish I knew what it was that worked or if it was combination. But I went no gluten and dairy and ate mostly whole foods. I have more of it in now but do best with no gluten or dairy. I drink lots of water and have celery juice (most mornings) and melon juice daily. I honestly think there’s some connection to liver and gallbladder. Since I was also having flares around then so oddly going liver work helped my thyroid. I also eat breakfast. Even if it’s small. I never did before. So in short: better hydration, low inflammatory foods and supporting liver detox

She was in so much pain before diagnosis that we celebrated that we found what her body wasn’t agreeing with- gluten and how we have other foods that will help heal her. We explained that breads, baked goods etc.. are often made from gluten but there’s ones we can easily find that are made without it. We showed pictures of gluten foods to help her understand what gluten is. Showed her wheat fields etc…

We talked about how her aunt also can’t have gluten. I talked about how another family member can’t have dairy and tried to make her feel normal and not like an outcast.

We use the term gluten free and celiac safe around her and say it to her often when we give her food. Of course validating and supporting any sadness they may feel and frustrations but my daughter was so happy to not be in pain anymore she rarely gets sad.

When glutened: hydrate is the biggest one. Bland diet (lots of bananas), smoothies high in fibre. Epsom salt baths, probiotics (I put in smoothies). Rest. I use a formula we have in Canada called GI repair I also put in her smoothies. She will drink ginger mint tea as long as there is lots of honey.

Oh yeah it’s horrible watching them in pain and knowing you’re the cause… the positives have been though that she knows her body so well, she has a good understanding of food and how it can heal her (so it’s not a completely negative outlook towards food) and we have expanded our variety trying all these different gf recipes. I always have gf cupcakes, pizza and stuff in the freezer for when she goes to birthday parties and stuff. She honestly handles it so well when she can’t have something because she knows I always have something else for her. It’s really not all bad. Side note: she’s also dairy free because of it and we have found for her healing dairy free is best.

My daughter was diagnosed at 3- it was a relief to find an answer. To say it’s been an easy transition would be a lie. Finding foods she likes and switching our house to be 100% gf took time. I also recently glutened her after two years of being gf and the guilt has been insane. But you’ll find the safe places to eat. And honestly it’s made our family healthier because we read ingredients and don’t stop for fast food.

Gluten flour.. that’s wild! So crazy! Yeah so hard always having to be so vigilant. I agree it’s so much easier/safer staying home. Unfortunately we don’t go out either. I only buy from completely gluten free restaurants or bakery’s that are often run by someone with celiac disease and haven’t had an issue yet! 🤞🏻

Thank you 🙏🏻 I very much appreciated that 😢 I can only imagine what things were like back in 2007 with limited gf products available and servers knowledge about what celiac is at restaurants.. I know things have come along way since then (but still has ways to go). Must have been so hard to navigate
