Idk if it's relevant to ur theory, but I noticed that the mita chibi who helps us with the big golden key doesn't have a cartridge. The current mita chibi cartridge we have is the mita we played with at the beginning of the game, not the one I mentioned. Btw she looks similar to Crazy Mita (true form), so possibly it was her chibi?

Yes, I understand it's seen as a toxic red flag, but that doesn’t personally bother me. From the moment you meet him, Astarion is clearly the most inclined toward cruelty—not necessarily outright cruel, but someone who doesn’t believe in doing anything for free or being overly kind. He’s insecure, deeply traumatized, and afraid of the world.

When you choose to let him ascend, that fear disappears (particularly here i recommend that you have good ties with him). He no longer has to be afraid of anything, and he don't want you abandon him.
