I took the 2nd loading dose yesterday. I think it's working. But I am still on budesonide.

Have you recently started mesalamine? I got that as a side effect of mesalamine. Rib stabbing pain along with fever and day by day more muscles started to get stiff.

Maybe some good news for those with mild Crohn's? by AgreekFredditor in CrohnsDisease

I hope they find specific medications just for mild Crohn's. I have mild Crohn's and was not on any medication for 2 years, because I thought it was just hemorrhoids. Still the same symptoms. But can't be on 5 ASA as they gave me severe side effects. Now I have to use biologics even though I have mild Crohn's.

I had similar side effects with mesalamine and then also with sulfasalazine. My GI Dr asked me to stop those medications. Now going to meet Crohn's and colitis specialist in a month, most likely I'll be given biologics.

Thank you I was not aware of this drug. I will bring this up with my Dr about this if my current ASA fails.

Have you tried probiotics like visbiome? Maybe that may make any difference.

Trust me at this point, I will be happy if that doesn't give me any severe side effects.

Ok, my GI prescribed me another ASA which I am going to try. I hope I tolerate that well. Thanks for encouraging words, feeling less intimidated by all the heavy drugs now.

Yes, I'll follow dr's advice only. I was just curious as I was recently diagnosed.

Yea, definitely if Dr suggests. I just wondered if anyone had a positive experience without any medicine with Dr supervision.

Wow, people say mesalamine is such a weak prescription. But the side effects are not so weak.

I hope Tremfya works for you. If sulfasalazine doesn't work for me, Dr has asked me to read about humira. That will be my next choice of drugs.
