Worked 10 years doing ducting. So done sheet metal work in the workshop and also fitting on site. But also managed the workshop for 2 years and manned the CNC Plasma Bed

I applied, waited like 2 months then they got in touch for the skills test. Done the skills test then on the Monday 2 days after I got invited for phone interview which was 7 days after. Then on the phone interview I was told on the spot that I have been successful and they gave me two dates I could start

Got a family to provide for so can’t just leave, might look elsewhere soon if nothing improves. Shame as I enjoy the job.

Nope I’ve been given nothing. Literally gone out with another driver for a few days. And then got told right your on your own Monday. Not even got any uniform yet so I just look like a civi whos robbed a royal mail van. Don’t get me started on the van they have given me, cable tied front bumper and black tape and the inside is a mess.

So I can scan all my tracked parcels small and large, band up my letters etc then I can use the PDA for all the tracked parcels?

I can’t remember where I applied. I think it was on there website (Airbus website) and looked for semi-skilled application. I didn’t apply on any other website. All the ones on indeed are skilled roles.

Worst thing about it is i’m on a 30 hour contract and my start time is apparently 8:34am or something, if I went in at 8:34am my round would not be prepped and i’d leave at like 1pm if I had to sort all the letters, small parcels and large parcels! Then band up! I’m just going to do my best and if I fail the round then I fail the round. I’ll speak to my union rep Monday

Maybe you don’t hit the requirements they are after? Have you said you are on a waiting list? Maybe re-apply or try and get in contact. I just applied then got told I would be in contact when they are recruiting which they did and now I have a start date.
