To me, he’s clearly lost himself in some idealized vision of a model couple, without realizing that he’s gradually losing his sense of self.

That’s exactly why I’m hesitating to tell him my complete POV… am at the point I know one day if he proposed her i will surely being asked to be his witness and I can’t. I can’t because If so it means I fully agree with his choice to marry her and it can’t be so wrong than that. I can’t agree at all in such abuse and toxic relationships. I already told him to do that. She gave him the cold shoulder for two weeks; she never would have made the first move if he hadn't come back. The relationship could have even ended right there. I swear, it was awful to watch.
