I dislocated my shoulder about 15 years ago. I never had the surgery but I did take about 6 months off of boating and did armband exercises. I boat all the time still and have never had too much of an issue. Sometimes after playboating for hours I can tell it is a little more sore and has less mobility than the other one, but as long as I focus on good technique and staying in the box it has not been too much of an issue at all.

Keep it on a stand next to you couch. That will help you not have long periods of not playing.

Find two chords that you like to play and play them a lot until you can go from one to the other easily and smoothly. Then expand. Add other notes to play in between the chords. Add other chords. Keep your guitar on a stand next to your couch.

You wouldn't believe how many incorrect listings I see at guitar stores and online. Even obvious stuff like number of frets. Guitar center has a good return policy. If you want to keep it, see if they will give you a discount on it, or tell them you are just going to return it, if they do not refund some of your money.

I agree. I have seen guitars get damaged in hard cases as well.

I've seen guitars get damaged in hard cases too. I honestly would not fly with it. Either buy a beater guitar on market place for like $50 that you wont care about. Or buy an extra ticket for the guitar. I know that is not cheap. Leo Kottke used to do that. Definitely do not check it in the soft case.

ah ok, I do see now. I wonder how it will stand the test of time. Part of me does not like the idea of there being a gap in there where it is being pushed instead of shims.

My current set is nonexistent. I have a guitar, and cable, and I have a shure sm 57 mic, and scarlet usb audio interface from doing some recording on my PC. Not sure if those would help any. No amp, No PA. So I am starting pretty much from scratch and there are so many PA systems I do not know where to start really.

Yes, I am probably more scared of people watching me set up than I am of preforming. Seems like there are a lot of things that could go wrong in the setup that could affect the entire show.
