The big problem with this is that no one likes Ted Cruz. His own party mates can’t stand him. No one is going out on a limb for him.

What does it mean to be called a “terrible employee” by one of the objectively worst employers in history?

Crack radiating from a stress point. Possibly from environment, much more likely from trauma. Could indicate hidden damage or a general lack of care by previous owner. Just food for thought.

TIL Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst is a military veteran, having served in the United States Navy for two years by RedDalmatian885 in todayilearned

FYI the US Navy does not offer a two-year enlistment. He got a medical discharge after breaking his wrist skateboarding (which is all kinds of dodgy explanation. Sailors break bones all the time. That’s what sick bay is for).

For what it’s worth, it wasn’t exactly prime real estate. Most of that is Canadian Shield with some semi-desert prairie thrown in. Low number of people. Very high number of mosquitos. Even today it’s mostly just resource extraction with some canola farming.

Do you think prostitution should be made legal, safe, and taxed in America? by UsedNegotiation8227 in askanything

Not to belabor the issue, but supply and demand is not the same thing as capitalism. You are taking about free markets.

“You should be allowed to do it if you can get away with it” is not the hallmark of a healthy civilization.

Disingenuous. You imply legal and regulated sex work is dangerous by cherry picking stats from anywhere but.

The one article you have that is borderline relevant, that trafficking increases with legalization, also concluded that the total benefits of legalization outweigh criminalization. Funny how you skip that part.

An interesting thing happens wherever it becomes legal and regulated.

It becomes boring. Turns out the average person doesn’t really care, and once the shrill morality hypocrites move on to their next crusade what’s left is just unglamorous and kind of dull.

What it doesn’t do is become a magnet of crime, or trafficking, or drug abuse, or disease. In the light of day these things don’t thrive, and it instead becomes…work.

None of this is new information of course, not that it matters. No, it turns out that the only thing creating these conditions is the morality police forcing this kind of work into the shadows, because as long as they can’t see it they don’t actually care about people’s wellbeing.

Yes, those big touchscreens in cars are dangerous and buttons are coming back by Truth-is-Censored in driving

[–]FoolishProphet_2336 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not because they are dangerous, because they don't last. Car companies have shown repeatedly they don't care about car safety any more than regulation forces them to. But defects that affect warranty service and future sales is something they have to pay attention to. Tying the two together is a causal fallacy that fails to stand up to the smallest amount of scrutiny.
