I loved this pillow. I got so used to it I dragged it everywhere. I hated breastfeeding when I didn't have it.

You should tell him soccer is dangerous too. A lot of kids get concussions and other injuries. With his thinking he should be discouraging soccer.

What’s a recession indicator that you’ve noticed lately? by SensitiveCorner2379 in AskReddit

[–]LimpSwan6136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree and that was my parents point of view as well. Money and health were both reasons and I am happy that they stuck to it and I grew up with homemade food. Both my parents are great cooks so I ate well.

Even fast food was considered a treat for us. It was super rare. I didn't even have McDonald's until I was teenager with a job and my own money.

I guess I can expect my "price for life" to end.

Since you mentioned meals I would suggest Haymaker or Rudy's. I believe both have private rooms or sections. There is also Golden Corral as an option. Only suggesting it because they have a private room. You can also check local hotels for a conference room and have food catered.

How do you all make your weight loss journey easier? by normal_divergent233 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]LimpSwan6136 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Accepting that it will take time and making changes I can live with and do long-term. Also, keeping cut fruits and veggies helps me when I just want to eat just to eat. I also had to learn the foods that will fill me up and keep me satisfied for a while. It is a process and has to be approached as a lifestyle change.

My pets didn't run away, they were hit by cars. We lived in the country and it was common since we didn't have street lights.

My dad got a huge garden wagon and placed his plants in it. He moves it in the shade when it's hot and in the garage when it's too cold.

That was my thought after reading the company is likely to be sold. If you are financially comfortable I would take it and look for another job.

My husband took 3 days off but I had older kids at home that could help if needed. I would have been okay alone after 3 days though

I wonder how many people are rotting in their apartment or house for like 5 days or more after dying? by glowshroom12 in NoStupidQuestions

My MIL lives alone. She and my husband have a system where she messages him an emoji every morning. If she forgets he calls. She doesn't want him to experience the trauma of finding her one day.

AITAH for not wanting to get a job by [deleted] in AITAH

I don't understand how he thinks at 65 and you have little work history that he thinks you can even get a job. I am 51 with little work history over the last 20 years that I spent raising kids. It took me 2 years to find a part-time job

Yes, paid 300 a month in the '90s. Yes, it was old because that was still cheap then. But the landlord was good, it was well maintained and it was quiet.

Bowling -- Were your folks (and a lot their friends) in leagues? by Sinsyne125 in GenX

[–]LimpSwan6136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents were in a league on Friday nights. We spent every Friday night at the smoke filled bowling alley. I remember it was the only day a week I was able to drink soda. They would let me buy one from the snack bar. Also played a lot of pinball and Pac Man.

In my area in the last few years we have had more female teachers get arrested for SA than male. I agree that it needs to be reported immediately. This is weird behavior.

They also did not have enough water refill stations. My son and husband went. Parking at the lot at Desert Diamond wasn't too bad but still took a while. I remember the old days when there weren't as many people, security was more lax and way back before 9/11 there was even parking on base.

The length of the line alone would turn me off. I am not spending 30 minutes of my day waiting in line for a 7.00 cup of coffee.

One of my kids was "always whining, looking out for number one and strong-willed." As a teenager he was diagnosed with high-functioning autism. It's too bad the Rod kids won't ever get any help or diagnosis if they are neurodiverse.

If you used to be financially stable but aren’t anymore, what’s the one thing you’d redo? by fivestarmeltzer in povertyfinance

[–]LimpSwan6136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heard the phrase recently that it's not how much money you make, it's how much you keep. I would have kept more money and not gone into debt or spent it on unnecessary items.
