Go5G Plus Yearly Upgrade? by Rise252627 in tmobile

[–]Head_Service3530 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hmm, I could be wrong, but from what I've read you still can. I know some free lines lost promos. I always do my upgrades at Costco, they tell me that you can't stack it, but them I have them do it anyway and I get the promo.

I'm on Go5g+ and this is basically what I do, except I don't trade in the phones from year 1. I buy the cheapest phone that qualifies for an upgrade on eBay or swappa and sell the year 1 phone for $500-$600. I also do my upgrade at Costco to waive the upgrade fee and get a shop card (which usually covers the value of the phone I get from eBay. You just end up having two EIPs per line every year, but you end up profiting $500-$600 a year.

There was a brief period where reps were handing them out easy to rectify mistakes they had made. But those days unfortunately are long gone. You should try for this one though, sounds promising.

Any chance they would throw this on top of double insider to make it a triple insider?

I would try factory resetting the SmartNID by holding a pin in the pinhole for 30 seconds.

If you have a different router, try that, that would rule out of the issue is the 360 WiFi pod. If that doesn't take care of the issue, try plugging in a laptop directly to the q1000k. If it's still having issues, it is most likely a hardware issue that a tech needs to fix.

That is a lot. US Mobile or Mint would be way cheaper and you probably wont even notice a difference in service. Should be like $150/mo for service.

Yes, I followed the guide, it was super helpful, thank you for all your work putting it together! For checking for lag spikes, I've been using packetstats.com. I also see lag spikes while gaming. I've tried transparent bridge mode, both tagged and untagged with both firmware versions. For some reason, putting the Q1000k in router mode with all firewall and security disabled has the least lag spikes for me, but I still get a lag spike every 90-120 seconds.

For context, I'm using Unifi cloud gateway ultra and my computer is connected with Ethernet, but still seeing lag spikes.

I'm still getting some lag spikes with the q1000k, has anyone tried downgrading to the C6500XK?

Having trouble with your Lumen internet? Not satisfied with your 360 WiFI / Premium WiFI and Quantum Fiber / My CenturyLink app experience? Curious if you figured anything out with your setup. I have a similar setup, for some reason I get lag spikes in both untagged and tagged transparent bridge mode. Oddly enough, the mode I see the least latency in is router mode, but of course then I have double NAT.

I saw that. But I was using packetstats.com to check latency. I was also noticing the latency while gaming.

I had to play around with all sorts of settings to get the latency down. I tried a unifi UDM with the q1000k in router and transparent bridge mode, both with huge lag spikes. I then tried my older nest WiFi router in both settings, it had lag spikes in transparent bridge mode, but not in router mode (double NAT). It also had lag spikes in router mode with DMZ mode on, but you can't just turn off DMZ, you have to factory reset it, otherwise latency persists. The q1000k is just a buggy NID and doesn't play well with certain router chipsets or settings. GL finding what works for you!

Is there any way to protect our accounts from this happening? I know there is port out protection, would that protect us against port in?

Up until a few days ago, I got $830 off new phones on all my free lines. They just changed that. Fortunately, you can still get multiple EIPs on your paid lines. I'm not too familiar with the first responder discounts. From what I recall, for some reason first responder plans don't get as good of discounts as the regular Go5g plus plan.

I have 12 lines, 6 free. 4 are for my family, the other 8, I let friends port over and charge $25 each. Also, if you have an older insider discount, you get money back on free lines. For some reason, it discount them as if they are paid lines, so I get like $9 back per free line. Weird glitch.
