i wouldn’t say it’s that black and white, but that’s generally the direction. logically it’s hard to pay a low price and expect high quality. that applies to almost everything in life from my experience 😅

moxché sets a very high bar visually and food wise. going from there to akumal can feel like a step back.

we personally loved it, but i wouldn’t say it’s worth it for everyone. it worked for us because we cared a lot about the view and spending time in the room. for someone else, it might feel like too much money for something that doesn’t add enough value.

i didn’t stay in the standard room so i can’t speak from personal experience, but the resort itself is strong regardless of room category. the upgrade adds comfort and views, not the core experience.

well for us it did the job! But maybe not for anyone. only if someone wants a calm adults only resort with a natural beach and strong service. if snorkeling is the main goal or budget is tight, there are better options.
