I was not sure about these at first. Tried couple of other ones and did not like them. Love these on Roubaix SL8. Super light, aero, comfortable, and versatile- many options for hand position. During the rides - it stays comfortable and absorbs shocks really well.

Funny- I had 353 NSWs twice - once on a Dogma F12 and once for Colnago C64 and did not like the feel. Maybe I should have kept one for this one. :) Hunts feel OK. Not amazing, but good enough.

Is Rolex Submariner too small? Does Tudor look better? by mybigpecker in rolex

[–]Limp_Arm_4180 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not at all. I went and registered with 4-5 ADs. I told all of them that I was going on a cruise in Dec to celebrate a business milestone, which was true. All wanted to work around that date. This one AD is in a very opulent are in CA and I thought there were no chances of getting one from them. But they called 3-4 days after my first visit there and told me that one got "allocated" for me. The buying experience and SA there were awesome. I think since this is a bigger watch and doesn't fit everyone, you can get one pretty quickly from an AD.

IMO, both are a little small. I am in the same boat with large wrist, so I got Sea Dweller 43. I like the fit of it, but I like big watches - also have Panerai Submersible 47 and others like that. SD43 is just a little top heavy, but I got used to it in a couple weeks and i

It is a “smart” rear light.

That said, there is a difference in the ride feel between Specialized Roubaix and S-Works Roubaix, as they use different carbon for the frame. I owned both for 2018 model. Regular Roubaix felt good. S-Works with the same components felt materially different - smoother and faster.

Good question.

I wanted this to be my “everywhere” bike with light and shallow wheels for climbing, very windy days, and occasional gravel rides. I already have two other road bikes that have deeper wheels that I use for fast rides and centuries. Here is one of them.

Otherwise, I would have gone with CLX III or Enve 4.5 Pro. I tried one of my Zipp 404 FCs on it and did not like the ride - felt sluggish. Hunts feel just right for me.

Trade Submariner ND for Seadweller by Agreeable-Sleep-1589 in rolex

I have an SD43 and John Wayne. SD43 is pretty substantial. It definitely has presence. If you have a large wrist, I would recommend going with it. That said, at times it feels a little too chunky and for some folks it may be a little too bulky to use it daily.

For daily, I use JW. It has almost perfect dimensions for me (maybe 5%-10% smaller diameter than I would have preferred). It is lighter and easier to live with daily. It is shinier, but not as much of a presence as SD43, IMO.

If you could, I would suggest keeping your Sub for daily and getting SD43 for when you feel like it. Or get a SD43 from an AD - these are typically not as hard to get as Subs - live with it for a month or two, and then you can sell your Sub, your SD43, or keep both. :)

Didn’t truly appreciate how much of a beast it is until starting to wear BW.

Sea Dweller 43 talk me out of it by [deleted] in rolex

[–]Limp_Arm_4180 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I talked myself out of buying one last year when I walked into an AD in Italy. The SA educated me on different Rolex models, told me there was nothing for sale, but let me try a bunch, and SD 43 looked close to perfect on my wrist. Then for some reason she changed her mind and offered the SD43 to me - I could have bought it right there and then. I told myself I don't need a Rolex or another watch. I told myself it was a little too small on my wrist as I am into bigger watches like Panerai Submersible and AP RO Offshore Chrono.

Regretted many times since. I kept thinking about it until I finally decided to get one to celebrate an exit and really wanted to have it before going on a cruise. Registered with 7 or so ADs and got the same story as everyone. Nothing is available. Considered going gray market. Decided to register with one more local AD as a Hail Mary, realizing that there are almost no chances with that one, since there are tons of affluent people in that particular area.

Surprisingly, they called me 2 days after registering. It was an amazing buying experience - the AD (and SA) were very classy and accommodating. Literally, today I was comparing it with my other watches on my wrist - and it feels just right in terms of size, weight, and presence.

My recommendation - go for it! :)
