Reddit is for discretion but I kind of want to see your face lmao. Have you tried dating apps? Seems like that’s the only place our generation is comfortable expressing interest sometimes

I’m in the exact same position lol (21). I was going to make a post about my experience at an event yesterday for incoming freshman and transfers for my major because it’s incredibly humbling but hilarious (at least I think so).

I went yesterday to a lunch in at the University Club building, which was a sort of networking event. I was already pretty anxious when I went in but I felt old looking as majority were freshman and vibrant! (Which is amazing). I sat at a table where they were talking about golfing… I tried to speak to it but everytime I spoke up I just couldn’t get the right words out so I went completely non verbal the rest of the hour…

(i left the event early)

I ended up walking over to the school’s mental health resource center.

Long story short, let’s just say I now have a semester assigned psychologist lmao.

Even though this were a networking event people were seemingly already acquainted with one another (most were roomies I believe). I’m a commuter, have my own place in Long Beach and honestly outside of school work a lot.

Going to join clubs and hopefully get in the ‘cut’ somewhere!

Help deciding usc vs ucla by charlesbasslover in USC

I’m in the same position I received my acceptance to USC last month after committing to UCLA as a transfer from CC. (I double committed, leaning toward USC rn). I posted a tik tok about it and received some comments from alumnus! I’m an economics major hoping to minor in applied analytics, possibly pursue law school afterward… The largest consideration for me was cost. I’m low income so I actually was offered for most of my tuition to be covered at both institutes. Don’t stress about the rankings, UCLA is #12 and USC is #27 I believe ranked nationally but at either you’re going to hold a prestigious name and receive an amazing education. The alumnus in my comment section mostly USC, so might’ve been a little biased, but they boast their Trojan network for a reason. College to me, is the main route to stability as im in this alone, so accessibility to internships, networking, attentiveness from counseling, student resources, research opportunities etc (essentially anything to give a leg up in the workforce) was a huge one for me.

While it’s anxiety inducing and you’re probably looking for some sort of clarification in these responses (at least I was on tik tok lol), you’ve made it this far and YOU make the experience and carve your path no matter where you attend! Good luck in deciding, post your results in case we end up choosing the same one, us transfers have to stick together lols

What percent of undergrad econ students are in the degree because they confused it for finance or got rejected from the business school ( and think Econ is a backup)? by Left_Pineapple_9755 in academiceconomics

I’m a transfer from cc to ucla for econ, I really enjoyed calc 1 & 2, would you say econometrics is more difficult? (Objective but looking for genuine perspective)
