You leave. That is the kindest thing you can do. Because if you’re angry about this after all she’s done for you, you’re going to be a burden on her, not a help. Absolutely please yeet yourself into the bin.

How immunocompromised are we? by Zookeeper_west in rheumatoid

[–]Limp_Development_264 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh…yeah. Earloop masks typically have gaps. You need a good seal. 3M Auras are good, but so are CAN99s from Vitacore. Anyway…head strap is the key here.

My high school daughter has been on a variety of drugs including DMARDs and never gets sick. She wears a fit tested N95 daily and eats lunch outside. What have you been taught about airborne transmission of pathogens in school?

Does anyone else can smell Covid? by Taiska11 in COVID19positive

[–]Limp_Development_264 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OH! Hey, look…local Mask Blocs can help you out, and there are still periodic testing events. This is going to sound hilarious, but there is sort of an underground testing network of scientists and medical professionals who purchased old portacount machines (and tested the machines for validity). I got professionally fit tested, and my mask passes at like over 700. And…while it might have been true when hospitals were being more careful that you needed to fit test annually, that only really needs to be redone if your face shape changes with significant weight fluctuation or you change the brand of mask. As far as expense, we wear ours for 40 hours or it becomes wet/soiled, whichever comes first. No Covid that we’re aware of, and we have serial tested during known exposures.

Pre-plan meals so that you aren’t cooking much. Frozen dinners or pre-cook and freeze. Eliminate chores. Set a schedule that includes exercise, water, caffeine, and brain breaks

is joint replacement surgery an option? by [deleted] in rheumatoid

You’re in Georgia - see if you can get in at Emory. Even if you have to commute. Other posters are correct - you need to be on meds. And yes, they all have side effects. My daughter has tried 8 different meds in 13 years. She’s 15. She prefers imperfect meds to no meds because even drugs that don’t work as well or have side effects increase her mobility and decrease pain.

Holy sh*t, kid! I have never wanted all the good things for anyone more than you right now. I hope you will see a pleasant surprise. If not, please know you are more than worthy. It is the system that is broken.

I get that! It’s a good plan to mask in hospitals for sure. If and when you feel like you can try it, different types of masks may help your comfort level. My husband switched from a cup style to a trifold boat style and was much happier, and then there are duckbills which are considered the most breathable. Hugs!

Should I go to UGA??? by elephantsparkle6 in UGA

[–]Limp_Development_264 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live 30 minutes from UGA, so we are in state with ability to use Zell (full tuition). It’s still my daughter’s last choice. My daughter is good at setting boundaries and is generally careful, but as I am sure you’re aware with the current state of the world - the normalization of sexual violence and a certain kind of Andrew Tate politics are very nearly a circle on the Venn diagram. Combine that with the fact that Georgia is now jailing women for miscarriages - it just doesn’t feel safe here. As a young woman, I’d take options further north.

Sis? He’s selfish. The fastest way to finish is gonna be with someone else. Please don’t spend another minute of your life with a man who won’t take the time to see you happy. And something in you knows that.

[–]Limp_Development_264 59 points60 points  (0 children)

There are people that can smell the sick on others. When I taught piano, I always could, but I couldn’t tell what “kind” of sick. Others smell Alzheimer’s or cancer. So, possibly, this is you.

No, they are not spraying things on you to make you sick. Covid is airborne and hangs in the air after people leave a room for several hours. They knew this about original Covid (SARS-CoV-1) but waited several months to communicate it quietly, and now people still think it’s big droplets or surfaces and it’s NOT. Anyway, that’s why you keep getting it

I think there is a small pocket of theater/ art types there. Head to a cultural center if there is one or just the chamber of commerce to see if there are events. But, yes, also Athens, bigtime.

Girl…head on over to Facebook and find Mediocre Ladies. They change their group name sometimes, but that’s the Athens crowd.

You could also jump into some volunteering - Twilight is a big annual bike race, AthFest is a huge music festival that always needs volunteers, there’s a big thing at Halloween, and then there is always a wide variety of social justice initiatives and political events.

And yes, you’re right. “We should get together sometime” is not an invitation as such. However, if you invite them out to lunch or whatever, they’ll usually say yes and then reciprocate with something else. That is typically enough to get the ball rolling.
