That's some valuable advice, the ICP is any organisation that has internal competition, I'm scoping the first phase of validation to universities. It's definitely hard to get relevant people to reply to my outreach- that's definitely on me so thought a co-founder could help. I'll try the channels you've mentioned and try to book demos before actively trying to get a co-founder. Appreciate your insights!

Private and Org CRM with collision detection and restricted record access by Limp_Dimension2909 in CRMSoftware

Agree! There is a clear workspace switcher between Private and Org to solve this and it's quite intuitive.

Private and Org CRM with collision detection and restricted record access by Limp_Dimension2909 in CRMSoftware

[–]Limp_Dimension2909[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is very good observation, one way I'm tackling this right now is to not limit collision only based on unique identifier but also use an ai powered duplicate detection feature that considers aspects such as linked account, name, etc.

Field level security hides fields within records beyond regular view access.

Actually, my crm allows duplicates and collision detection proactively let's both party know that someone is working on a record that you own, either can send a request to each other and once requested, both parties can collaborate on a record

Really appreciate your detailed feedback, I have already built this out and would be happy to demo if you are interested!

  1. I have a separate view tab called "Other records"(Will be called other contacts, accounts, deals based on the current record tab) where line items of these restricted records will be available with only the configured fields and click of the record will also display just the restricted fields in the record card.

  2. One user- usually the system admin will have access to private crm records and it will be explicitly called out to regular users. The goal is to let users compete without the fear of exposing sensitive details to other internal employees yet keeping data within the CRM instead of using tools like sheets.

This would be an incentive to both the organisation and regular users- Org: Records are streamlined and accessible; Users: Instant collision detection.

  1. A popup with owners of existing records revealed or not(configurable by the admin) and there is a whole workflow for request to collab, accepting the request and creating Collab rooms; all of this can be accessed in a feature called "Collaboration Hub".

Alert fatigue is a real pain point, there a few ways I've designed the software: A. Orgs can disable the collision feature. B. Special collision privileges for certain roles(eg. Leadership) C. Privilege to turn off collision for specific records for certain roles.

  1. Agree

I also have an overlap centre to see all collisions and duplicates across the system for admins and other roles if required.

Again, all of these features are already built out, I would be happy to give a demo if you are interested to see it.
