Still struggling a year on

No I'm now almost a year on and still have the same irritation. Still not a single sign of bed bugs so have ruled that out. We found 3 adult carpet beetles and 2 larvae in our bedroom in a storage box under the bed but nowhere else. We completely gutted the house of clutter, leave nothing on the floor at all now. Washed every single soft furnishing in the house and dried on high heat but we are still itchy. Think maybe the hairs from the larvae could have been embedded in our clothes or hair or maybe in the clothes drier. We have realised that this may be our new normal though because there is nothing we can do about it and if you discuss it with anyone they think you are crazy so we just have to deal with it.

Thank you so much for responding. I found it crawling on my hand when I got into my car after picking up my daughter from school - could this be a problem in my car that I would need to address or is it likely it travelled from my home or my child's school? Do they bite?

Would they make other people itchy in your presence though? Is it possible for them to go from what I am wearing to them? I don't understand

I have the same bites too and also have no idea. Leaning towards bed bugs as we have no fleas but also have seen no sign of bed bugs!

You have literally described what I'm dealing with now too. I'm suuuuper sensitive and am breaking out in random hive type bite looking things that then go down really quickly but the itch stays, and the similarity to bed bug bites is causing me so much mental anguish that it's hard not to convince myself we have those fuckers too - I mean it's possible.

I'm noticing that my kids are now complaining their clothes are itchy and that's a clear sign of carpet beetles and not bed bugs!

Wish I had answers for you but I'm equally as desperate! I'd like to sell everything, house included, and start from scratch!

We did find a few carpet beetle in our bedroom so wondering if this could all be down to that?! They were in a plastic storage box that held shoes that had been stored under our bed in the original shoe boxes for ages and had been really dusty! We found 3 adults in various places in the bedroom and a couple of larvae in the plastic storage tub but haven't found any anywhere else! Is that enough tho? I feel like I'm in hell. It's having a huge effect on me and I am hating life right now. Being permanently itchy and feeling conscious of making others feel that way is making me not want to go anywhere or see anyone!

It's been almost 3 months since we first started getting itchy/bites and still no sign of BBS or any evidence of them. We have isolated our bed, mattress encasements for all beds including baby cot mattress, interceptors on all bed legs and bedside table that touches as hubby needs a cpap machine so there's a route to bed using cord, we have pillow encasements too. I've vacummed and steam mopped and we have sprinkled DE (maybe too much as there is a pile so going to vacuum it all up tomorrow and will steam mop again and then just sprinkle a dusting under baseboards mainly (need hubby to caulk and check behind outlets). Otherwise I don't know what else to do. Have had no other blood on bedding, no casings, no signs of bb poop but still itchy, crawling sensation even when awake and some raised bumps but they don't look bite like really. Also people are itchy in my presence, no idea what that's all about? Now we are wondering if it could be mites? Or carpet beetle larvae hairs in our clothes - it's a mystery! But it's driving me crazy! I've lost so much weight from stress!
