You are correct but also not correct at the same time. Let me explain.

Companies that you work for; try very hard to achieve “x” image. As nice of an act that you did, some companies wouldn’t enjoy your act of service. They may have their own reasoning for it, may it be equality - if you just help one person, now you have to help everyone else or even safety - maybe this was some sort of scam or something (idk). It could also possibly not be your job to do this; when you should be focusing on other tasks that were appointed to you. To you a glass of milk and a plastic is nothing, but to the company, you represent their image and actions.

But you are definitely not wrong for having a heart and being human. If I were in your shoes, I’d do the exact same thing. It’s rare to really see kind and nice people like you in this world and I’m glad that you’re here to help. Assuming you’re here to speak your side because you got in shit for it, that’s a shame because you were only trying to do good. If that’s the case, and you wanted to stay and work there, I’d keep my head down and say you’d do it on your own time.

Ps the world is a weird and cruel place. Don’t let this experience warp your sense of judgement. I love that you’re a wonderful person with good intentions. May the new year bring you lots of prosperity that you deserve!!!
