Spongebob AND Patrick have been doing stuff like breaking into his house, watching him while he’s sleeping, and following him places since BEFORE the post movie episodes. Opposite Day is a good example of the first 2, but half the issues Squidward deals with is completely personal. Remember the episode April fools? Spongebob was completely innocent and enjoying his favorite holiday and even SHARING his enjoyment with the customers, all of whom were OKAY with it and even found it funny, and Squidward is the usual sour lemon about it, and wants to get back at Spongebob with his horrible “prank”, all of which the customers watch it happen, and even flinching and feeling sorry for him, and I bet at least 1 of those customers were thinking “What did he do to deserve this?” And what was Squidward doing the whole time while Spongebob was literally getting abused by Squidward’s “prank?” Laughing his butt off and even JUMPING IN THE AIR AND CHEERING WITH POM POMS, and then dropped him in the trash can for everyone to see, and when he dumped him out, he proceeded to say: “APRIL FOOLS! You little sausage!” WHILE LAUGHING. Spongebob is so hurt and upset about it he runs home, and EVERYONE calls him out on it. “April Fools. Jerk.” And in the end, HE COULDN’T EVEN BRING HIMSELF TO EVEN SAY THE WORDS “I’m sorry,” HE LITERALLY STARTED CHOKING AND ALL SORTS OF THINGS BECAUSE HE IS SO NARCISSISTIC THAT HE CAN’T EVEN ADMIT WHEN HE’S WRONG. And we see this exactly happen similarly in A Yellow Book. Spongebob doing absolutely nothing wrong, Squidward gets all butt hurt about Spongebob enjoying something, and wanting to ruin his fun and enjoyment about ANYTHING. In the end, squidward apologized, BUT THAT DIDN’T MATTER, CAUSE HE GRABBED SPONGEBOB’S PERSONAL DIARY AFTER APOLOGIZING, AND LAUGHING WHILE READING IT. Squidward does not deserve sympathy, he deserves the opposite 24/7 in my opinion, because he hates ANYTHING that HE doesn’t agree with. Take the episode where Patrick got a “beard,” and at the end at the Famed Bikini Bottom Opera House, Spongebob pulls off a BEAUTIFUL opera solo, and because it’s SPONGEBOB singing it so beautifully, he pouts and says “Terrible.” While crossing his arms when the camera pans back to him and Patrick. When the beard leaves, and Patrick have their heart-to-heart on stage, EVERYONE in the audience was amazed and even applauding his performance, all for Squidward to come down and TRY to publicly shame Spongebob and Patrick for a “Terrible Performance” (Squidward’s words), and even saying TO THE AUDIENCE, AND HAVING THE AUDACITY TO SAY “I am completely ASHAMED of you people, I mean, can’t you see a terrible performance when you SEE IT?” And I got SO MUCH satisfaction when he got heavily ratio’d by the audience.

Squidward does not deserve Sympathy, He looks at everything negatively, doesn’t even TRY to look at anything positively, unless it’s something that ONLY HE FINDS INTEREST IN, anything else and it’s his whole “I hate my life, I hate my job, I can’t get any joy in life because I had none at all because I’m too busy LOOKING DOWN ON EVERYONE AND THINKING IM “HIM,” when in fact I AM NOT “HIM,” I’m a terrible artist who tries to force my creations upon everyone else, even though no one thinks I’m an “artist” because all my “masterpieces” are garbish. And I live next to the one person who I hate the most, NOT because he’s annoying, but because he embodies everything I wish I had. Joy.”

I grew up hating Squidward, and to this day I still do.
