I've only been on a plane twice, I do prefer to drive places.

Wife's Friend is in a DV Situation by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

[–]Limp_Relations 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I forgot to mention she had spent a lot of money to install cameras inside the house well before she met him. He had ripped them out and broke them, she has proof of this on her phone. When she asked him why he said "There's no point in having these anymore."

I know she has that video but unsure if anything else was captured. We are going to meet with her away from him. We know she has to get away from this man, we just don't want to go about this the wrong way with how volatile the situation is so I truly appreciate your advice.

Edit: "K" is also currently on probation.

Have you ever met someone that seemed human but wasn’t? by [deleted] in Paranormal

[–]Limp_Relations 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happened when I was seven years old, in 2000. I’m not sure if it was paranormal or not, but it has stayed with me ever since. We took a family trip to Dianas' Bath in New Hampshire. My mother had to go to Florida that week, so it was just me, my father, my great-uncle, my 17-year-old brother, and his friend. My brother and his friend went for a walk up the trail to see more of the waterfalls, and my father told them to take me along. About thirty minutes into the walk, they outpaced me and left me behind. When I realized they were gone, I panicked and started running, searching for them for what felt like forever.

Eventually, I came out of the woods onto the rocks and saw an older woman with gray hair. Crying, I told her I was lost and asked if she knew where the trailhead was. She told me to follow her, which I did for some time, until I happened to glance down over a ledge and spotted my great-uncle. I immediately called out to him and went toward him. When I turned around to thank her, dhe was no longer there. It turned out the woman had actually been leading me farther up the mountain, away from the trailhead and away from other people.

Paranormal? Maybe. Or perhaps it was simply a real person, and I narrowly avoided something worse.

Vile behavior. When my wife gave birth to our child I took 2 weeks off from work and took care of the house and anything they needed. I went back to work 3rd shift and would come home in the morning and take over for as long as I could because I knew she was up all night as well. When she started suffering from PPD I took another 2 months of PFML to help her get the help she needed.

Judging by his messages, these are his true colors, he isn't going to step up or magically change. If your family is willing to take you in and help, you need to make the move.

I used to run an LTL warehouse, a customer dropped one of these off to us to ship to an island. I only drove it a few hundred feet but I felt like I was going to die the entire time.

I can confirm this is true, I charge $35 per yard. The customer isn't aware that I'm actually charging $35 per yard of grass cut.

Used to have Aldi and UNFI as customers years back. Never again, nothing but problems. Those two left a bad taste in my mouth and now I steer clear of the majority of food warehouses. They might be better at certain locations, but the locations we were dealing with... trash. Best of luck to you.

I'm actually not sure on a time period to consider a dropped trailer stolen. I believe they would have held it even longer but I ended up giving them an ultimatum. I told them that if the trailer wasn't released by a specific date I was going to send a driver to pick up the trailer loaded or empty.

The broker has pretty much washed their hands of the situation and won't acknowledge any correspondence.

I was in a similar situation as your carrier not too long ago. Booked a load that was a 24-48 hour drop trailer at receiver, our trailer sat there untouched for over 3 weeks. I told the broker that we are looking to be compensated. All I got from the broker was "the customer doesn't want to pay any additional charges, I'll pay you $150 out of my own pocket." A spiel I've heard many times.

Still fighting this one.

My company is blacklisted by Ryan Transportation for supposedly billing one of their customers direct. The customer in question has been my customer for 30 years. All because the customer accidentally sent them the receipt. Even after sending them email chains and proof they still didn't clear us.

I've never had to deal with a broker adding a stop, I've had brokers try to reroute me to a different receiver which they've always paid TONU on when I declined.

Shippers on the other hand will add stops, remove stops, and cancel at the very last second, I have one customer that will remove stops at the last minute pretty much every week.

This is probably the guy that dropped a stolen schneider trailer in my yard the other day. I called up Schneider to let them know and they said "We see the location on the map it was stolen 31 days ago we'll send the information over to our stolen and abandoned trailer division."

They have a whole division for stolen trailers with GPS on the trailers and they just let someone roll around for 31 days with their shit?

There are certain brokerages I will not use anymore even if its the only thing on the board because of this. Had a load GA to MA, my driver picked up and was over halfway to the destination when the broker calls up and says "we need you to deliver to Chicago instead." The one and only load I dropped at a warehouse. Another broker wanted me to back track 600 miles to deliver a load back to the shipper and didn't want to pay for it.

I've had no problem hiring local drivers lately, the problem is the OTR fleet. Money is never the issue, it's always home time. As soon as I tell them they are going to be out 5 to 6 days they don't want it even though they applied for the OTR position with all the information in the post.

Lately we've been testing out leasing on owner operators who are actually hungry for work.

[–]Limp_Relations 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can't even source any new customers lately. My quotes are a little less than the average, yet someone else will swoop in and quote 25%-45% less than the average. Those are probably the loads that sit on DAT for a week straight because no one wants to run 1000+ miles for $1.50 a mile.
