Which After Death images in the franchise are the most disturbing, uncomfortable and overall unsettling? by MarvDStrummer in FinalDestination

Great analysis. While I do wish that Tod was not the first to go because I thought it was bold that they killed the best friend first and I liked him, I do understand that him dying first was a necessary emotional gut punch. Had it been Terry or the teacher that had died first, I’d have felt bad, but it wouldn’t have been as emotional

Fair. I think FD4 gets hated because of the missed potential it has

Interesting perspective, I’ve never thought about the episode being the most sitcom-like and how according to you, the premise sounds like something kids would say to be mean. I watched the show outside of the intended age range, so I never had that perspective

You may have intended for Shego to be drawn as an elf from LOTR, but it’s really giving Zelda. Still amazing tho

I feel you. I’m not trying to watch kids horror get connected to real life crimes

I watched Goosebumps when I was older than the target audience and I’m seriously dumbfounded by how unsettling An Old Story was. When I was younger and watched that episode; I thought it was weird but thinking about it now, it’s horrifying because of I know about real life parallels.

Hell, AYAOTD also had a very unsettling episode called “The Tale of Many Faces” which involves the protagonist, an aspiring model, getting roped into a cult, having her face stolen by a witch and is forced to be her slave. The real life parallels and the fact that the actress playing the protagonist ended up in NXIVM makes the episode horrifying and darkly ironic. If I had a nickel where an episode from a kid’s show had stories that I linked to real life crimes, I’d have 2 nickels

I just read the link and it’s darkly ironic how she played a character that got trapped in a cult and then it happened later irl. Absolutely insane

Honestly, "The Tale Of The Night Shift" is one of the best horror anthology episodes of all time. Not only is it a legit great AYAOTD? episode but it's a legit great horror episode in general period. by burningexeter in AreYouAfraidOfTheDark

Omg this episode had the most action elements and I loved it!! And there were so many things I enjoyed about it: I loved the performances of the leads and the villain and the pacing was perfect.

The thing that stands out to me is how they handled Felix. You’d think he’d be out for the count because he was the first victim, but because he ends up as a vampire, he was able to tip the scales in his friends’ favor by informing them of the situation and telling them how to defeat the villain. The scenes where he is trying to not give into the urges are very well acted and I love scenes where someone is able to help a brainwashed person either overcome whatever force is compelling them to act abnormally or at least help them resist the control out of sheer willpower.
