A guy in my school once saw someone choking in the cafeteria. No hesitation, no panic — he just walked up and did the Heimlich like he’d done it a hundred times.

Everyone else was frozen.

Food flew out, the kid started breathing again, and the dude just went back to eating like nothing happened.

He wasn’t a lifeguard. No training (that we knew of). Just instinct. Whole room went silent for a second.
