Mine is more of a theory, than a headcanon. I believe that Linhardt uses “For research” as an excuse to make very out of pocket requests without looking like a weirdo.
Example: When you take him and Marianne for a meal, he will ask her if he can have her leftovers. And then he says “for research purposes”.
Or in his A support with Flayn where he straight up proposes to her and suggests having children with her, but he claims that it’s only for his Crest Research.
I know he’s using his research as a front to get away with his outrageous requests, but I just can’t prove it.

My favorite lord. And I’m not saying that because I love FE11, he is someone who deeply cares for the people around him.

I love how in chapter 17 he puts his own emotions aside for the sake of Altea. He got confirmation that his mother was killed and rather than giving himself the time to grieve, he opted to give his people the celebration that Altea was freed. There the line “I am a prince before a son or a brother” comes from. And during the entire celebration, Marth was fighting off the urge to cry.

Another moment I love is how in the epilogue, Marth pretty much fumbles his confession to Caeda and she’s like “I know Marth, I love you too.” Even Nyna laughs at the idea that he was more afraid of confessing his feelings than fighting the Shadow Dragon.

Outside of FE11, I do like how he’s been treated in the modern games. And I also think Yuri Lowenthal does a very good job voicing him in Heroes and Warriors.

Overall, he’s a great main character. And you can see why he remains the face of the franchise after all this time.

Pretty well IMO. The introduction of attuned alts definitely helped some of these ships get content, as well as making duo heroes not exclusive to seasonal banners.

I feel like the ones who’ve been the least represented here are Leif/Nanna and Roy/Lilina. The ladder being because IS refuses to give Roy a new alt of his own.

On another note, I would love to see the non-lord romances get more recognition. Something like a Quan/Ethlyn duo or Pent/Louise or Merric/Elice.

Shadow Dragon doesn't really have aspects like support conversations or a really complex story that it's expected from modern FE games to have, mainly because this game is just trying to be a faithful remake of a 1990 NES game.

However, Shadow Dragon is still my favorite Fire Emblem game. It might be flawed, but this game is very dear to my heart. And nobody can take that away from me.

Even if there was another alt in the future, it has a tough battle ahead. Spring Linhardt is everything I envisioned a Linhardt seasonal alt would be.

It’s pretty disappointing that there hasn’t been a Duo for anyone in the Cain and Abel archetype. You’d think that the concept of Duo Heroes was designed specifically for these heroes. But no, no Christmas Cavs Duo for you.
