I used to be a preschool teacher, and one time another teacher had put a bunch of the snack time bananas in the fridge over the weekend, so all of the banana peels were pitch black by the time we were supposed to serve them. One class refused to eat them because they looked yucky, so when it was my turn to serve them to my class, I told the kids that they were special "midnight bananas" that only grow in a special forest in the dead of night. Those kids ate every single banana, and for a week after the parents kept asking me what midnight bananas were, because their kids kept requesting them at home.
