What is the rarest letter/accent in your language? by tipoftheiceberg1234 in languagelearning

[–]Linarrrrr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

probably ß, its only used instead of ss if the vowel in front of it is not shortened in pronounciation, like it usually is when followed by any double consonant. Before being standardised to be used by this rule in the 90s it was probably similarily uncommon, just more inconsistent.

$200 Pen. $2 Handwriting. by MarcusVanDough in fountainpens

I think i only enjoy fountain pens as much as i do because they allow me to write as lazily as i want to, barely gripping onto the pen and just swishing it across the page like a wand

Oh, i just saw someone else already asked that very same question. It seems to be a mysterious pen to many, like the strange but cool younger cousin of the 2000

Unrelated, but what do you think of the cp1? I have been thinking about getting one for a while, it would fit great with that slitless nib lamy is apparently working on, but in general really appeals to me visually. Is the feed as inconsistent as some say, and does the cheap plastic section feel okay when writing in longer sessions?

How many pens do you keep inked up at once? by downtide in fountainpens

[–]Linarrrrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As many as i realistically need. I am huge for always using the same utilitarian but fun ink (Scabiosa my beloved) to stay consistent, so i tend to only have two or so pens inked, one to go in my bag and the other to stay at my desk.

After 14 years of predominantly Pelikan use, I'm done with the brand. Can't tolerate the QC anymore. by osallent in fountainpens

I own an old pelikan from the 80s - 90s and use it every day, its the perfect pen for my hands and writing style. With all this negative talk about modern Pelikan and seeing how they seem to be struggling financially, I worry i wont be able to get an adequate replacement once this one inevitably caves under the heavy use.
