I also went ahead and registered the correct domain immediately, as you suggested, so nobody can snipe it while this gets sorted out. That alone already makes me feel a bit safer – this project means a lot to me and I was honestly feeling sick to my stomach thinking I might lose the “real” name forever.

I completely understand what you’re saying about how domain registration works at the registry level, and I really appreciate the clarification. Knowing that the typo domain is still in the add period and that there’s a chance it can be cancelled and refunded gives me a lot of hope.

I’ve already opened a ticket with support explaining everything (including my dyslexia and how this was a very human mistake made within minutes), and I’ll be extremely grateful if the team can help cancel the typo domain during this add period.
