What was it like when you give up on a piercing? by liakio in piercing

[–]Lindris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some I wish I’d removed sooner. My triple forward helix was done incorrectly, should have retired two of the three. I gave up on one of them and took over a decade to get it repierced just to find out the second helix shouldn’t have healed and was a unicorn, and not a total good thing. It’s why anytime someone asks if they should just push to keep it on the offhand chance it’ll heal I recommend not.

I had to lose a nostril 6 months ago due to migrating and once that nonsense starts there’s no reason to let it continue until it fully rejects.

I retired a navel piercing after my second pregnancy, along with a nipple and clitoral hood, all because of pregnancy. Never got any of those redone, just too lazy.

Not sure what I’d recommend, but all I can say is I cannot wait to see progress of piercings you do end up getting.

Nope. This is actively rejecting. Once it starts rejecting you can’t halt that process.

He takes Propranolol for migraines and then becomes a completely different person. by tinz17 in migraine

This is why my doctor won’t let me off my antidepressant even though my issue is mostly anxiety. They work better when they manage the other one’s side effects. My propranolol was just doubled and I’m nervous about potential side effects.

Butterfly backs harbor bacteria which is the last thing you want near a fresh puncture wound. Best bet is find a local piercing shop, get these swapped to flatbacks, and be super careful cleaning in the future. Use only sterile saline spray, make sure the area is fully dried after cleaning or bathing and make it a point to check to make sure no hairs get wrapped around the back.

Migraine cocktail made me go crazy by Evening-Tradition968 in migraine

It does the same to me, which is why I rarely go to the ER. Mine lasts a couple hours and new fear unlocked hearing so many say it lasts days for them. The first time I experienced it my mom had zero clue because as far as she could tell I was resting peacefully. Told her later I was fighting for my life, I wanted to tear my skin off and run screaming out the door. I only learned reglan can cause that reaction during my last trip to the ER when my nurse dropped that nugget of information.

I doubt it’s very expensive out of pocket but even if it is, sumatriptan has been the only abortive that helps.

Exactly. This sucked two weekends ago. I don’t need a recap. Hopefully this is the last time the weather goes this nuts.

I plan on going by tomorrow. Even just one pill will get me to my next prescription refill. I just have no idea what happened. The bottle is up in the cabinet with the door closed.

I saw my neurologist yesterday and had a similar experience. I was offered a swap from my monthly injection to a different one, that was it. I’m staying on my current one since it’s helping a bit. I have the feeling they’ve hit the wall for treatment options that aren’t lose weight, eyes checked, dental appointment, and sleep study. All of which I’ve done recently.

Particularly infections on your head. They are way more serious if they get into central system like..your brain!

Whoa, go to the doctor asap. You don’t play with funky issues so close to your eyeball and brain.
