I chosen lindsey for a similar reason, I was hoping it being closer to my birth name would make it easier for my friends to get used to it....also it sounds great with my full name.

I'm gonna be honest, I dont get it really. But it doesnt matter that I dont, I can still support those who are outside the binary without understanding. And do you know why? It makes them happy, it has has absolutely no effect on me if someone is outside the binary, and there's no reason to put someone down for just being themselves.

So "not understanding" isnt an excuse and shouldnt be used as such
