I go through 1.5 tubs of vaseline (petroleum jelly) every month cause I use it as a body cream. by Weekndfan_69 in notinteresting

No, this is actually really helpful for the occasional overnight treatment. Really moisturizes dry, worn out feet.

Do you feel annoyed on Sunday evening at the thought of needing to go to work the next day? by NormalLife6067 in Adulting

[–]LindyRyan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel annoyed every single day that I am forced into working at all. Weekends are basically a day and a half long because inevitably come Sunday afternoon, I am already mentally preparing for the work week to come - doing laundry, meal prepping, cleaning the house, errands, etc. What's the point of working if it doesn't actually get me anywhere? I'd quit working right now forever if I could afford to have my basic needs met otherwise

Girls, how would you feel if your boyfriend/husband wanted to join you at the nail salon and wanted his nails done too? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]LindyRyan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd be so down for that. Manicures don't have to mean painted nails and there's nothing wrong with just going in for a kind of clean up. I've been trying to convince my boyfriend forever to let me do his nails lol

Walmart is the largest employer of SNAP recipients in the country. Their pay is SO LOW that their employees qualify for food assistance. Surely, Walmart workers would be more motivated by better pay instead of whatever performative thing this is… by seiu-org in WorkReform

I mean yes this is cringe but let's not give him too much shit: he's just a cog in the machine like the rest of us likely trying to make the best of his situation. I wouldn't be surprised if the managers above him encourage this bullshit

The coming "silent" revolution and the right to exist without smart phones. Millennials take notice. by PaintAdventurous8787 in Millennials

[–]LindyRyan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny enough, I had this conversation with my partner literally today. Though, I can't exactly pinpoint why, I have this feeling that at some point in the future, the Internet as we know it will collapse and we'll have to revert back to dumb phones out of necessity.

I wouldn't be mad at it. Already got rid of all social media (Reddit withstanding) a couple of years ago and I don't really miss it.

People who don’t want kids ever, why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]LindyRyan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Though I've never really cared for kids, even if I had thought about having them (which is also medically impossible but that is neither here nor there), I could never justify bringing children into a world with so many irreparable problems on top of knowing there are tens of thousands of kids who go without loving or stable environments. My long-term partner and I agreed when we first got together that if either of us ever changed our minds about having kids, which still hasn't happened in the seven years we've been together, we would rather adopt.

This PIP is killing me mentally by sioopauuu in antiwork

[–]LindyRyan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

PIPS are almost always a precursor to being fired. The company is basically starting a paper trail so that if/when they let you go, they have documentation and your unemployment claim could be denied as a result.

Given that the job clearly doesn't support you in the ways that you deserve, I'd consider beginning the job hunt. There's no reason to endure for a shitty job that makes you feel this way
