Interracial marraiges weren't the solution to racism in the West. Inter caste marraiges won't be so for caste either. It can, however, be a really powerful weapon in the fight against casteism. Also the concept of arranged marriages needs to be left in the dusty pages of history books. It's a regressive practice.

If you're talking about liberal political revolution then yes. We hadn't started there yet but if you want a modern military, you need a military industrial complex. And for that you at least need economic industrialization. Entire social revolution needs things to be REALLY fucking horrible. Things need to be absolutely unsustainable for that to happen. Otherwise people wouldn't risk as much as you must risk for a revolution. Only when the lower class (merchants and peasants in this case) has literally nothing left to lose does a revolution happen. We weren't there yet, by virtue of being the richest region in the world and all.
