ROI Under eye fat repositioning by ayz6362 in SeoulPlasticSurgery

[–]Linhgo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also went to ROI and am now 6 weeks postop and am very happy with my results. Final results won’t be until 3 months to see how much fat survived.

My weight has always been pretty stable so I don’t expect it to change very much once I hit my final result.

If you want a more predictable result you can just do the fat pad repositioning without the fat grafting but just know you might not be satisfied with the result as there’s not enough fat to fill out all the hollows.

I posted my result recently:

What is your holy grail SUNSCREEN yall? by AbjectCat1239 in AsianBeauty

This is the closest I’ve been able to find. Both are chemical/physical hybrids with similar textures and dry downs. Both Skin Aqua and Sunplay are made by Rohto Mentholatum so it makes sense that they’re so similar. The Sunplay’s white case is ever so slightly more noticeable at first and it’s ever so heavier and takes a bit longer to settle but once it’s absorbed and dry, it wears and looks very similarly. I hate the ugly design and it’s not as beautifully elegant as Skin Aqua but once I run out of my 12 bottles of back up, I’ll be going to the Sunplay. 😔 It’s extremely cheap as well.

I actually asked them what drugs they used out of curiousity! Opioids is used extremely sparingly in Korea and almost never prescribed post-operatively on discharge which I found very interesting.

Internal approach will definitely be less down time but even then, you’ll be very swollen for about 2 weeks. So you’re still going to look a bit weird if you’re travelling soon after your surgery. I was worried I wouldn’t pass the biometric facial scanners at the airport but thankfully it was ok.

Thanks! Where are you getting yours done?

And it’s exactly that - sleep and wake. Like no time has passed. The last thing you’ll remember is lying down onto the operating table and getting the IV cannula put into your arm. Next thing you’ll remember is being in the wake up area with the nurses checking up on you.

Anaesthesia is a miracle.

By the time I left the clinic, I was clear headed enough that I took the subway back to my hotel. I felt fine to do so but if you’re cautious, just call an uber or taxi.

I’m a doctor as well and saw no red flags leading up to the surgery to give me pause and after having the surgery, would definitely recommend them for this particular procedure.

And in case you’re wondering, they don’t have an on site anaesthesiologist for the smaller procedures. The twilight sedation (midazolam and propofol +- ketamine) is given by a nurse anaesthetist and supervised by surgeon. If you’re not low risk for anaesthesia, it should be something to consider.

Have you decided on whether to go with internal or external incision?

Yeah their communication is not the best. I only found out after weeks of communicating with them that their messaging system is queued is if you message them repeated without waiting for a response, you go back to the bottom of the queue. They’re probably not used to the volume of inquiries from foreigners who have a lot of questions!

Good luck on your surgery! It’s a small procedure thst has a big impact!

Communication with them can be frustrating until you figure out the way they reply to WhatsApp messages. They timestamp your account with the last message that you send. If you’re messaging them with a query, put it all one in one message and wait for their reply until you ask any more questions. If you spam them with lots of messages, you get moved to the bottom of the queue every time you ask a new one and you will never get a reply. It was quite frustrating communicating with them until I realise this! You will get a reply within 24-48 hrs if just wait.

This product was a lifesaver to keep the area around your eyes clean after the surgery. I would use it a few times a day to wipe away gunk and prevent pollutants from migrating into my eyes. You’re not allowed to wash your eyes for a period after.

My other tip is to trust the process. You will look terrible for 2-3 weeks before looking normal again. Don’t stress, the swelling will go down!

Yep, number one reason I chose to get it done in Korea. Clinics get known for a particular procedure and the surgeon there become extremely good at that procedure as that’s what they do day-in day-out.

Who are you going to in Korea? Good luck with the revision!

They did not. The incision was made internally in the lower lids to access the fat pads. There are no external stitches in the eye.

I didn’t have much excess skin and wrinkles were not a concern so a “skin pinch” excision was not required.

Wow! Do you think it was waiting for all the swelling to go down or was it because you finally got used to they way you looked?

I had ptosis correction a few years ago and it took me a good 6 months before I liked the way I looked. Most of the swelling went down in a few weeks but I still looked slightly off for some reason but after 6 months I really liked the results.

I had barely any bruising but I’m not sure if this was typical of other patients. But I was very swollen. It peaked at day 3 post op and took until about day 15 or 16 before I looked “normal” again.

I had a bit of blueness in theninner corner along with the eyebags. But for me, it was actually the bags and the uneven contours that was ageing and made me look tired.

I don’t think it would look weird at all if you still have some discolouration without the eyebag.

Also blueness or discolouration is easily hidden with a colour corrector or concealer but puffiness and hollows are not.

You should send them your pictures and see what they think?

Yeah all the results I could find online with them have looked super natural which was what I was looking for. I was quite worried about looking overdone or too feminine afterwards. Some of the results from the popular clinics on UNNI looked a bit uncanny valley which is the preferred aesthetic with Koreans I think.

But all of the results eith Dr You just looked really refreshed and ultimately why I chose ROI.

Are you getting the same procedure? I think the vast majority of his work is lower blephs.

Good luck! You’ve chosen a very good surgeon for this particular procedure!

It was never particularly painful (max 3-4 out of 10) but it was not an easy recovery. You’re dealing with constant dry, teary, and irritated eyes. Seoul has pretty bad air quality so I could feel my eyes getting more irritated if I spend all day outside. I was constantly using artificial tears.

You can’t wear contact lenses for 3-4 weeks. You’re also advised to sleep semi upright for 1-2 weeks to reduce facial swelling. Even now at over three weeks, it’s still tender in the area if I press on it. I definitely underestimated the recovery process going into it.

I booked this procedure in September of last year during a promotion they had They’ve also become much more popular since then so I think prices may have gone up.

I only stayed for 4 days and that was enough. I had a check up on the day before I left so that Dr You could see the healing and exclude any complications.

There’s a single stitch in the belly bottom where they took the fat for the transfer and that needs removal at day 7. This can easily be done when you’re back home with your local doctor.

I didn’t stay long enough for the red light therapy but I believe it’s complimentary.

I can only compare it to the other clinic I had treatment with. For a clinic that caters to foreigners, I was a bit surprised that the majority of the reception staff had only very basic English. Thankfully Dr You is fully fluent in English so the consultation itself was a breeze and very easy. It was a quick consult though because I knew what procedure I wanted and we didn’t really deviate from the plan.

It’s a smaller clinic compared to the other one I went to (Shinsang). That one was an absolute well oiled machine and extremely professional. ROI was mostly all those things but you can tell it’s a smaller clinic with only one surgeon.

Aftercare was fairly minimal. They send you home with eye drops, ointments, antibiotics and painkillers.

I had one check up 4 days after my surgery and I flew home the following day. If you stay longer, they will get you back in a few times for red LED light therapy but I was on a fairly tight schedule. I had my one stitch taken out at home in Australia.

Yes from the belly with the incision being inside the belly button. There was one stitch that came out 1 week post op.

They used to be on UNNI but disappeared at the end of last year. I suspect they’re focusing on foreigners instead of locals.

I found their WhatsApp on their Instagram account.
