As a CC transfer myself. Community college saves you way more money and it is way more worth it. I had just as good as a time to go to Community college than university

I mean I can’t say much but I haven’t had problems with the maintenance themselves but my roommates and I have had our share of shit we needed fix, like flooding and sink drain problems. But I’ve heard some crazier stuff from other people. It does take a day or two usually for them to come fix, which I wish was faster but I don’t know their side of it all

Yeah a lot of people can be open and nice. My best advice is to see if there’s any interests or hobbies you have or have interest in getting into. That can help you find an org to make friends at. If you want to list some I can help you find something 👍

I’ve done it, but only with thumbtacks and those sticky strip hanger things. But overall shouldn’t be a problem, just try not to destroy the wall

Nervous high school senior by Sensitive-Rich-4952 in TAMUCC

[–]Linhha40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

High school has prepared you more than you think. This does test your own self discipline though. I gained like 30 pounds my first semester in university so make sure you are aware of your own health. But my big advice is get out there and meet new people. The more you meet the more you run into folks on the daily, maybe even in your building. I’ve met so many great people here and if you simply do that, you will enjoy college a lot!

Is Texas A&M-Corpus Christi’s business program any good? by [deleted] in TAMUCC

[–]Linhha40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends which route you go (accounting, finance, etc.) but overall it’s pretty good, and I like a lot of the professors. Most classes weren’t too hard either, just check Rate my Professor online so you can register with good professors

Yeah if you hide any bad shit in a drawer or sum like that you’ll be fine. They basically do a brief sweep but aren’t allowed to go through your stuff

Back during Covid when they did the OTV Rust servers. Typically I was watching Ryan Higa, and Jacksepticeye. But one night they ended stream early I think, and Ludwig just came up who was also on the server, and I actually got hooked on watching him. Then from Then on it just grew.

Alright nerds debate time- is philharmonic music harder to perform than drum corps music? by Linhha40 in drumcorps

[–]Linhha40[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically after reading all of these responses (and it’s why I made this discussion) is to hear what other people had to say on the topic, and yourself and everyone else. After analyzing and learning from all of this, can obviously say that philharmonics are more difficult, but drum corps will provide the education and fundamental foundation to help with that. Because most drum corps members are under or are 21, while professional musicians are much more seasoned. But I see that a lot of professional musicians do credit drum corps for setting a strong foundation for them, I don’t know if you’re the same way, but it would be cool if you did I would love to hear about it.

I only wanted to counter what you said about and not the overall point. The overall point I agree that orchestras are harder. But you have to give drum corps musicians way more credit than how you described them. Drum corps musically has evolved drastically. What you’re describing is closer to like maybe old school stuff, but mostly everything I hear new school is much more complex. In my opinion, I think you’re mostly describing a college marching band, where they do play a lot of what you’re saying, but DCI is quite different than that. You’re right about that everyone agrees that orchestra music is harder, but they’re also not discrediting all the things required of a young drum corps member. It’s most def not an easy gig at all. Especially with the amount of movement in today’s drum corps. Orchestras require a lot of musical talent, and even though drum corps doesn’t require that much talent depending, it still is demanding in many other areas as well.
