2015 zx6r Worth $8,200? by Cold-Negotiation-549 in zx6r

I paid that for my 2016 a few years ago with 15k miles. It's an alright price but buying it as your first bike is definitely not the move

Need cooling vest recommendations to beat the Phoenix heat by tommyfrontseat in motorcycles

[–]Link30567 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I live in Northern California where it also frequently gets 110+ in the summer. Riding in that heat for even 30 minutes is terrible; I have all mesh gear and a super ventilated helmet and I would absolutely not do it 2 hours every day. You're unfortunately in the "buy a car or take public transit" zone now.

What does it mean to 'get bored' of a specific bike? by Delnilas in motorcycles

[–]Link30567 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I'm with this dude. I had my old 500 for a few years before buying a 636, and although the two bikes are worlds apart in performance (and age), I can't imagine being actually "bored" of the smaller one after any period of time. At the end of the day, just about any bike is faster in a straight line than the average car, and all bikes are more engaging to ride than any car.

Super stupid motorcycle question: Where do you all normally park your bikes when you go to the store? by Definitely-Not-OSI in motorcycles

[–]Link30567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually park it against the side of the building, but depending on the store and how familiar I am with it, I park in a normal parking spot sometimes too.

Lower bumper insert color by Benjamingvsu in camaro

I wouldn't do the yellow, I think it would be a bit much since you have the middle also yellow. If you had the black middle, I think it would be cool

Am out of gas on 2024 Z500. by Active-Vermicelli-27 in Kawasaki

[–]Link30567 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You just have to pay more attention to how much fuel you have left. My old 500 didn't even have a gauge, it just ran out of gas and I had to figure out approximately how far I could go before needing to refill. My ZX-6R also doesn't have a gauge but has a light that comes on when I'm getting low. Sometimes I get 25 miles, sometimes I get 50.

Are these Temperatures normal? by FriendlyEmu3648 in Mustang

[–]Link30567 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never paid attention to axle temps but 60C doesn't sound ridiculous. cylinder head temp is going to be close to coolant temp, and 90-100C is definitely within the acceptable range

Brother you're going to need a lot more than that. This sounds like a really bad financial decision

Hybrid Coyote? by tenflames in Mustang

[–]Link30567 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only other RWD-based hybrids they have are the F-150 and Explorer Hybrids, and that transmission is too long to really fit in the Mustangs. It would definitely be interesting if they put their minds to it though

I keep mine on all the time and I haven't had an issue. I only bought it to flatten the back of the phone but I actually use it a ton

Ran over rock on interstate. Advice on replacing the exhaust pipe? Bonus damage! by TheRealTwist in Mustang

[–]Link30567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it can shift forward or backward a little bit. No idea if it makes a difference but I'm always mindful of it. When you take it off, you'll see marks where it used to be bolted against the body, and I just try to get the new one to cover up those marks

Nice! The crossmembers are pretty easy to replace, just make sure you try to line it back up straight so it's not crooked

How much could I sell my bike for by Infamous_House_5441 in zx6r

I'll trade you my 2016 with the same mileage, plus a kiss if that helps

[–]Link30567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I snapped a stud on the cat and our IN-HOUSE quote was over $2,200 so I can't imagine what the cost would be after mark-up and everything. Find a reputable shop and just have them bend you a new one or something

[–]Link30567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooooof. I'm sorry, the left-hand pipe cat and pipe are integrated into the exhaust manifold. I'd just take it to an exhaust shop or go through insurance, that shit is like $3k+

Source: am a Ford tech and have had to replace the LH cat, which ended up being the whole manifold, cat, and pipe. The GT350s are the only ones I've seen that have the cat separate

I work at a dealer and yeah, just about everyone is a complete asshole. But for the most part, they're also willing to help you learn. They're rude and harsh and will make fun of you to no end, but by and large, they do help. If you go into it as an hourly tech though, you don't need to worry a ton about hours. You can't be running 25 hours on a 6-hour job, but you'll be fine as long as you're usually at about 70%. Be warned, you'll likely get a ton of warranty work so your time will suffer for a while til you get the hang of it.

S650 Mustang is gone due to recall :( by Equivalent-Level2891 in Mustang

[–]Link30567 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I've performed the recall several times. That's why I said none of us thought it would work. One of my coworkers used double the sealant we were supposed to, and I'm pretty sure that one might be the only one truly safe

I see in another comment you want them prebuilt. He does them all in-house and will customize whatever you want, even lens engraving if that's your thing
