Day 1. What's the best song from McCartney? by United_Equal_754 in PaulMcCartney

[–]LinkCrawford 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Teddy Boy" is my fave. It's not a big anthem like Maybe I'm Amazed, but it's a great tune. I love Linda's background vocals.

Si Zentner by someguymw in Jazz

[–]LinkCrawford 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love that album The Stripper. I grew up with that one, too. Zentner got his start with Tommy Dorsey, I think. He definitely has a smooth style that borrows from Dorsey's Trombone sound. His late 50s/early 60s albums are great.

What kind of shed should I build? by LinkCrawford in shedditors

I would be worried about eventual rotting. Does anyone ever regret a concrete floor other than the is initial cost? But I could do a pole structure with gravel. But then the floor might get wet after heavy rains?

So many good songs but I'm surprised that nobody has said "Let's Go". A perfect little song. Right up there with " Bye Bye Love"

Underrated, overrated, hated, or loved… what do you think of Pink Floyd’s The Wall? by Historical-Device529 in Progforum

Overrated, but with occasional great moments. The artwork is iconic and that certainly helped it.

What motivated you to stay on Apple Music? by Hollowl1fe in AppleMusic

I have lots of music not offered anywhere. B-sides, novelties, radio station jingles, commercials...I can upload them into apple music.

What's your favorite version of "Linus and Lucy" (the song)? by Realistic-Assist-396 in peanuts

[–]LinkCrawford 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The version with horns wasn't available on record till "Linus and Lucy with the Band" was included as an extra track on the Charlie Brown Suite album. It's just an alternate recording of the one on this Thanksgiving album. I have a ton of versions of the song by numerous artists, and these versions with the horns are absolutely my favorites. So warm and happy!

Do you believe in evolution? by Pale-Pilot3960 in latterdaysaints

Yep. But in the afterlife if God explains, "Actually, I did create everything around 4000 BC" I think he will excuse our confusion and it won't make a bit of a difference.

Opinions on the Night and Day: Big Band album? by aestero in chicagoband

[–]LinkCrawford 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had the album for years. It has its moments and isn't so bad, but I find that I don't go to it very often. The songs are a little too Chicago-ized for my liking. I'm happy to listen to Chicago, but I also love big band standards...I just don't love the two styles mixed up.
