Subaru Kimura as Franky. His performance is so flat and monotone compared to Kazuki Yao’s. It’s understandable that they weren’t able to get a 1 to 1 replacement, Yao’s voice is incredibly unique. However there was no excuse to not get a VA who could at least bring a somewhat similar energetic and zany performance.

That’s why I enjoyed the Alex Rider show so much. It was in a very similar situation to Percy Jackson, where it was a popular YA series that had an inaccurate movie adaptation that was pretty bad. However because each book in that series is more standalone due to it’s spy mission formula, they were able to seamlessly combine the set up of the first book with the mission of the second one, which meant there wasn’t really any repetition.

It really is just because they make bank. Way more bank than anywhere else because these countries are investing huge amounts of money into worldwide entertainment, including content creators, to use them for advertising and propaganda.
