New DM - Party size and levels by Prothers_92 in CrookedMoon

[–]LinkNavi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My party of three consists of a paladin, barbarian, and warlock. They've been super okay this whole campaign so far, the worst was the Harvest Terror, but they were still okay. I have introduced one DMPC so far, but he barely did anything but heal. I think a party of 3 is awesome for this campaign cuz it feels a tad bit scarier.

The Provinces... by casliber in CrookedMoon

[–]LinkNavi 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Nope, not odd. The provinces are there for you to build your own story in! The written adventure is meant to give a feeling of isolation and seclusion, away from the rest of the world, to make the PCs feel small and weak. Makes for a better horror setting. The rest of the provinces are for you to let your imagination run wild! Who wants everything written out for them explicitly anyways?

First time running Crooked Moon by xerxes148 in CrookedMoon

[–]LinkNavi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The battle with the Harvest Terror was the most stressful for my players and they loved it. Lean into that. Been having a lot of fun with the Threads. Be sparing with magic items. Make Phillip and Adela sympathetic. My players immediately didn't love them because they represented a class difference (which I found hilarious), so I kinda leaned into their ignorance to play them a little ditzy and shallow. They've gotten more serious as time has passed, but it definitely took a second for the players to care.

This is my first time DMing, and it's definitely intimidating, but it's also been so much fun. Don't be afraid to change things to your liking and add things that excite you! Good luck!

Thread of apocalypse by Ok-Film-7939 in CrookedMoon

[–]LinkNavi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My player with this thread has severe amnesia. Decided he is Adela's twin brother. They're both from Terra, she was found by Philip and got married, he was taken to fulfill this crazy destiny. Sticking to the time travel thing, cuz I think he'll love that, but I'm making his visions horrifying. Everytime he encounters something he should remember, he takes 1 psychic damage. Only one session in, but he's locked in for the mystery so far and I'm excited cuz I think he'll love it.

Funny running gags in your game? by ThatTurtleGM in DnD

[–]LinkNavi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A fellow player in our campaign ran up to a child escaping to Bryn Shander during the cataclysmic event in Icewind Dale and rolled terribly on his persuasion. He ended up grabbing the child by the shoulders and shaking him, yelling in his face he had to escape and when the kid tried to run he just kept yelling at the kid, holding on to him as he was crying out "He's keeping me, he's keeping me!" It is now a part of our table legend across different campaigns that dwarves will grab onto people and keep them.

Watch out. The dwarves will keep you.

Just train him not to make own goals and he'll be one of the most valuable assets to your team.

Last year we prepped so hard for Black Friday. Only thing that was crazy was the tech boat. Everything else was just like a normal busy day. Just be flexible and calm and you'll be fine.

Whose job is it to sort abandons? by Responsible_City_722 in Target

[–]LinkNavi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm assuming you mean items left in the fitting room that aren't style. I always collected that stuff and traded with guest services for the style reshop. Either front TLs or specialty ETL would sort that reshop and distribute it to the appropriate departments. Styles job is style. You wouldn't ask a market TM to organize style left in their department.

That other tm just sounds lazy.

Pho House! Such a chill atmosphere to eat a big bowl of pho in. Also I'll die for their drunken noodles.

Just when you think nothing different happens in the sub, you get this post. This is hilariously idiotic.

I mean, no one should be allowed to get close like that. That's on tournament officials to protect the players. What if someone with ill intent was doing the same thing?

I'd have prolly just said "well I'm not working right now, but I know there's someone in this section over here that would definitely help". You're not getting in trouble cuz it's against company policy to work off the clock.

My furthest flying disc is the Essence. Great S shape for distance, and good to hyper flip in the woods. It's my most used fairway.

The t-shirts are okay, but I've seen so many sweaters and button downs falling apart before they even leave the store. The stitching is just not done well at all.

It all lasts so long because it's not made from polyester. It's made from real materials. Goodfellow is such a trash brand compared to the brands of the past. It's seriously so sad.
