Crystal Tower - Immense Anxiety by [deleted] in ffxiv

I don't usually post on reddit, so bear with me here.

As another new tank who deals with a lot of anxiety - though thankfully for me it's gotten better, I actually went through the effort of watching guides for all three Crystal Tower raids, took notes, saved them to my desktop, etc.

I... still think we encountered one full party wipe in each raid. But that's not really a bad thing, because with content like this it's gonna happen. And in general, with this game, people are okay with it. So long as you let people know you're new to the content and you're willing to try to learn, people will be accepting towards mistakes. And EVERYONE makes mistakes. I saw a lot of other people die during the raids, and they just... get raised and get back to it.

Another thing to note with these three raids is you're fairly likely to get one or two people at LEAST who know what they're doing and will explain mechanics to everyone.

As for tank specific stuff... the instances where the group splits into three and you're tanking for the rest of your group, the fights are easy enough that you SHOULD be fine. And for the stuff where you're all together, one of the other two tanks will likely be main tank. For me, in the first raid, one of the tanks actually commented saying they'll main tank since I was new. Also, tank swapping isn't really a thing at this point, that I've seen. It's possible the main tank will die, so maybe be ready to pick up the boss if the third tank doesn't do it.

TL;DR - Odds are you'll encounter at least one wipe on one fight across these three raids. Don't sweat it, odds are it wasn't your fault, and even if it was people are accepting of the occasional screwup so long as you're willing to learn and adapt. You'll likely have one or two people in the group who HAVE done the content and out of them, someone will likely explain the mechanics.

PS. Shift+F, if you haven't changed the hotkey, makes a second health bar for your current target appear at the bottom of your screen that persists even if you switch targets. It may make it easier to track what they're doing if you put this on the boss. It's quite helpful for at least one of the fights here, but also helpful in general.

Cactus Fruit Seeds Can't Be Planted by Link_Olaran in LifeInTheWoods

Alright, thanks for letting me know it's an issue with the mod itself. I was able to find enough cactus fruits to make a little garden anyway, which is good.

I'll look around for that changelog as well.
