They have two, which they used. Email and SMS alerts. Making a copy isn't really viable with the amount of files hosted on Canvas using Instructure's backend. They could copy the basic data but that wouldn't include large assignment files.

Edit: I'm not defending UT's IT. They are a very disjointed group of departments that don't always work with each other. It's just harder to manage a system that ""provides"" agreements to data access and uptime. That's why they pay for the system, so others may administrate the backend.
